In September we will be visiting Scotland and Wales with a somewhat fixed schedule. Our last night in Skye will be a Saturday, so we will be traveling on Sunday. We need to get to North Wales by Monday. Does anyone have thoughts on an approach for this?
I've toyed with the idea of doing the 10 hours in one day or stopping someplace along the way. I have a lot of experience with longer travel times than this, so it would not be challenging beyond the mental drain of such an extended drive.
I'd also be ok with stopping someplace mid-way.
What I want to avoid is a situation where I leave on Sunday, drive to a mid-point, and not have done anything worthwhile that day. I'd want to either have a bunch of places to enjoy before stopping someplace just to sleep or getting someplace to stay somewhat quicker and having time to enjoy things at that location.
My initial ideas where to enjoy Oban and maybe an island like Staffa before staying in someplace like Luss for the night, or going directly to a place like Keswick and doing things in that area until the evening.
