Clothing costs?

Hi! Wondering how prices for women's clothing compares with the US? I'm thinking about average clothing costs for sweaters, hiking clothes, etc. I know it is a vague question....but say in comparison to a REI store or a Banana Republic type store? Hoping to come with an empty suitcase ;)

I find clothing prices in SA and Canada generally similar, but it depends of course a lot on where you shop, if there's a sale etc. Here are links to some clothing stores so that you can look at prices (divide the Rand value by 10 to get the Canadian dollar value and by 12 for the US dollar value more or less):

Cape Union Mart (more outdoor-type clothes and gear): https:/…women-s-clothing

Truworths: https://www.truworths.co.za

Foschini: foschini.co.za/foschini/…foschini-home

Queenspark: queenspark.com/product-category/womanswear/

Big Blue (generally more African designs): https://www.bigblue.co.za

YDE (South African designers): https://www.yde.co.za/the-lookbook/for-her and https://www.facebook.com/YDEfashion/

Mr Price (cheaper): https://www.mrp.com/en_za/ladies/

There are many other stores as well, you will find them in most malls.

We also have H&M and Zara. I prefer shopping in the States than in S. Africa because the clothese are nicer then BUT for us its expensive to shop in the States. For you, coming with Dollars, things will probably be cheaper for you here. Done have REI here . We did have Banana Republic but I found it was cheaper in the STATES IF it was on sale. Same here. When are you coming. What time of the year.

4. Re: Clothing costs?

We find clothes cost pretty similar here to Europe, the exception being Trainers or Tekkies as they are called here, cheap brands at huge prices, top brands at mega prices.
