whitehorse to calgary End of Sept 2018

Hi all we are looking at getting a RV and driving to Calgary. One of things we are uncertain about is the weather as we not from North America. Will there be snow on the roads? Would we need snow chains??? We would also be taking about 3 weeks to do this. If anybody has suggestions for the trip it would be appreciated.

The first thing you want to figure is to see if the RV rentals in Whitehorse will have a unit for a one way to Calgary. Fraserway and GoNorth. and 2 rv rental companies.

Chains are only used on the main highways by very large trucks and only in a very bad snow storms that you would not want to drive in anyway.

and if you are planning on driving this route via BC after Oct 01 there is a requirement for snow tires with M+S being a min rating. Which means there are expectations that there could be snow at that time of year,

+at that time of year you would likely be dry camping as the overnight temps could be below freezing so no water in the pipes which means an RV is not the best way to travel at that time of year unless you like wild camping with no services.
