Montreal - 3 days with kids

Hi all,

We are aiming to spend 3 days in Montreal and would welcome some feedbacks/recommendations :)

First the hotel. We are looking for a hotel, well located (so supposedly downtown?) with a pool. We looked around and thought about Hotel Bonaventure. Would it be too risky to choose a hotel with an outdoor pool for the season?

Second - anything to do with the children. We are open to walks, visits, parks etc… what would you recommend to see? Do?

Kids are 8 and 5; fine to walk and open to discover new things.

Thanks in advance!

What are your dates for the trip?

You could also consider Hotel Square Phillips. I've never stayed there, but it is often recommended for families.

Pointe-a-Calliere Musuem has exhibits/activities for kids. https://pacmusee.qc.ca/en/

This post rates the pool at the Bonaventure very, very highly, but no mention of little kids involved.

Hopefully, others will give you their opinions soon.

When we travel up to Montreal with our kids we always stay at Le Square Phillips. The rooms are large, vast majority of them being suites. Fantastic location. The pool is small, but adequate. I've also stayed at hte Bonaventure and really like it. The rooms are typical hotel rooms. The pool and hot tubs/sauna are great.

Meant to add to the above...that said, we always choose Le Square Phillips when traveling with the kids simply because of the room sizes-we value having extra space when traveling with our kids.

Definitely the Biodome. I like the science museum at the Old Port, but it depends on your kids.

I do agree that the Science Center is a great place to visit with kids that age. You could easily spend an entire day in the Old Port with the kids. Besides the Science Center you can rent a bike for 4, you can do pedal boating on the Bonsecours Basin, and more. Here is a list of activities in the Old Port, many of which your kids would certainly like: https://www.oldportofmontreal.com/activities

On a side note anyone would have recommendations to celebrate wedding anniversary over there? That would include the children :)

I looked up at airplane tour but it can add up fast, so any other suggestions would be great :)

Thank you
