Do I need to pre-book Maid of the Mist?

Hi Folks

We are very much looking forward to our first visit to Niagara Falls in just 2 weeks. I know this is holiday time for many - will I need to pre-book the trips like Maid of the Mist and the Behind the Falls tour, or will I be fine to simply arrive and jump on?

Thanks for your advice.

Maid of the Mist is strictly first come first served. All the other Niagara Parks attractions are timed entry (your entry will be for a specific time period during the day) and tickets are only available at attractions or Welcome Centers. Mid June is not super busy, so you shouldn't have any problems.

Thanks Fallsdude

Just after posting I realised that I should have just searched and found the answer as it's a common enough question.

Thanks again - we can't wait to get there!

Fallsdude: Does it mean that Whirlpool Aero Car, White Water Walk, Journey Behind the Falls and the Butterfly Conservatory are all timed entry places? But if I purchase one adventure pass from Niagara Falls Park, how does it work? Even if I were to select my time slots at the Center you mentioned, how would I know how much time to be devoted to each place so that I can select the appropriate time for entering? Sounds kind of complicate. Especially because I am planning to do all these places in one day. Help!

Not to worry Oldjayhawk, the people at the Welcome Centers will know how space out the attractions to suit your schedule. The timed entry is more for the very busy days, when lineups would be unbearably long, to ensure a more orderly flow of people. When it is not overly busy, it is possible to get your tickets at each attraction as you get to it, with very little waiting.

Fallsdude: Thanks for your quick reply. I am going to Niagara Falls tomorrow. Unfortunate, I think the weather will be stormy the day I arrive and on Saturday (my sightseeing day is Saturday). Too bad. I appreciate your great help so far.

We have also purchased a pass online discounted. We will be there the third week of July. Will we be able to get on the maid of the mist? How about the fury attraction? We will be there 4 days. What would you recommend to have the best chance of Maid without waiting a long time??

Hi;

The best time to avoid line-ups for Maid of the Mist is when they first open.
