We're family of four (kids 8 & 16) are planning on visiting Nova Scotia in July (Halifax and Cape Breton Island) this summer. We like beaches, views, small hike, etc... We do want to see the Fortress of Louisbourg. Could you give me some advise / suggestions / corrections on our plan please? We don't be in a rush and spend to much time in the car.
We're planning for 3 nights in Halifax (Halifax, Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg) and then ~ 5 nights at CBI. For the CBI part:
Day 1 - Travel from Halifax to Mabou and stay for two nights. .
Day 2 - Exploree the area, beaches, etc.
Day 4 & 5 - Maybe to Meat Cove, then the east part of Cabot Trail, and not sure where to stay for the next 2 nights since we'd like to visit the Fortress of Louisbourg as well (maybe Baddeck - any suggestions, it might be 2 different places)..
Day 6 - travel home to Ottawa (out of Nova Scotia)
Is Mabou a good are for the swimming and just to relax?
Thank you for any changes/suggestions in advance!
