Driving from Gaspe

Hi everyone,

I've posted a couple questions so far, thank you to everyone who's helped!

Just one small question more... we're driving from Gaspe and wondering if it would be better to stay on the Acadian Peninsula (around Bertrand) or in Shediac. We have 2 nights and we like lots of different things, hiking/beaches/nature as well as good food, history and quaint towns/shops.

Thanks everyone!

If you are stopping in Percé to take the boat tour to visit Ile Bonaventure to see the Northern Gannet colony or even hike on the Island you will be pushing it to get beyond Bathurst.

We won't be doing that. We're staying in the Gaspe area for a few days and intend to explore the area then, so driving from Gaspe would be with the intention of getting to wherever we're staying in NB.

Shediac is a very busy tourist spot famous for its beach and lobster festival.

Personally, I prefer the Acadian Peninsula. There is the Acadian Village to visit, a small aquarium at Shippagen, and a lovely a national park. There is a Baroque music festival at Lameque www.festivalbaroque.com/en/?s=festival. If you are travelling when it's on, you can expect to find difficulty with accommodation.
