Ready to move away from Victoria

We have walked every block of this town & found so many interesting books to visit. We have one more day & a car to explore, where should we venture tomorrow?

Nooks not books.

More nooks.

Grab a coffee to go and head up H17 to Sidney for breakfast at the Third Street Café.

Explore the town then take the Brentwood Bay ferry across Saanich Inlet and visit Cowichan Bay. Buy reduced fare tickets at Thrifty Foods in Sidney.

More nooks and more good eats.

If the weather is not so good, then I'd head to the Gulf Islands:

Or, if that's too much driving or the rain is really nasty, maybe just head to the Cowichan Valley wineries

If this rain blows through or you just fancy some wild coastline, perhaps head out to Sooke?

Drive out of the city on Highway One. Stop at Goldstream Park, here , https://goo.gl/maps/8ZhBUbMqCgv

Go down to the river and see if there are any early salmon beginning their spawning, its a bit early though. Walk through the forest to the Nature House.

Carry on up the hill, The Malahat, stop at the first lookout , here, https://goo.gl/maps/grgB6X6zvb72

for a view of the fjord.

The next rest area has no view, but after that, just around the bend is a really good one. Here https://goo.gl/maps/xRcvnM9TAB32. Drive off and this is the view, you can just faintly see MT Baker in the distance, https://goo.gl/maps/jHd9w7uDjUx

Carry on down the hill , turn right into Mill Bay, stop at Thrifty's supermarket, to buy discounted ferry tickets. Make your way from there to the Brentwood Ferry for a very scenic 35 minute ferry ride.

At Brentwood Bay, go to Butchart's Gardens or take another scenic drive back to Victoria,

If you follow the lead of Gelli550, you may or may not be able to make Butchart for a decent 2 hour visit. In any case, swing by Sidney, tell me what you would like to eat for dinner and I'll set you up.

Mary's might work. http://www.marysbleuemoon.com/

Well, let’s take another run at this thing.

Looks like the rain won’t let up until half past April so you might as well just surrender and come on out to Sidney, anyway.

Eat, cruise the quaint little shops and visit the BC Aviation Museum. https://www.bcam.net/

Have a nice meal, a jug of wine and stay over, in a waterfront room at the Pier Hotel. https://www.sidneypier.com/en-gb

In the morning, hit the spa downstairs and go next door to the Salish Sea “aquarium.”

Another nice meal, a ten minute drive to the airport to drop the car and vamoose
