Spring Break Travel Trailer Trip Suggestions

Just got a travel trailer for Christmas and hoping to test it out on Spring Break in March. I am looking for suggestions of where to go with a family of 5 leaving from Vancouver...we would have around 10 days for the trip

What a nice present for Christmas :) !

In BC? Come over to Vancouver Island to tour around.

Or how about Oregon. Beautiful coastline and lots of state parks along Highway 101. Beat the summer crowds. Similar wet weather as Vancouver.

More info from you will give you better results on TA

Oh yikes. Well, March is wet and cold for a lot of country around here, so you'd have to go a pretty long way to get out of that. Are you winter campers usually? I've done some winter camping, and it can be OK if you are properly prepared, but otherwise I think you are looking at heading to California. You can't even really head inland at that time of year because the higher elevation usually means colder weather, although you are less likely to be in the rain, but snow and frost are still very much a possibility in March.

You could do something like what we did last summer - do a couple of days of HARD driving to get into Central California, just staying in motels those first two nights.Once you hit Sacramento/San Francisco, you should start getting into milder temperatures on the coast, but I still wouldn't look at places like Yosemite as it is likely still too cold and snowy.

If you like that plan, head over to the California forum for better advice.

Our trailer is a Jayco 29 ft bunkhouse....the problem with Vancouver island is the cost of the ferry..Perhaps southern Oregon or northern California?. We are looking for areas that are great for kids age 2,4 and 6

Yes, southern Oregon/northern California, at least. Head over to the Oregon and California forums for information about specifics on those areas.

I downloaded an app to my iPad for our trip last year - AllStays camping. I really liked it because it listed private and government campgrounds on one map and I could make a decision about which suited us best.
