Sledding at Grouse mountain?

hi there,

I promised my son to take him sledding while on a trip to Vancouver (we are here now). Is Grouse mountain the place to do it? it seems pricey and a hassle to get to with public transport. Is it worth it?

thank you

The gondola up to Grouse mountain has a pretty steep price. There is Cypress Mountain. The run a pay shuttle from Lonsdale Quay but they do sliding, tobogganning and tubing. Tubing is a hoot. Take the Seabus from Waterfront Station to Lonsdale Quay.

From Lonsdale Quay it will take about 35 min to get up to the ski hill, but there is no expensive gondola.

There's probably still snow up on Burnaby Mountain if you have a toboggan. Problem with the ski hills is they have liability and you have to pay for a ticket to cover their insurance costs. Go to a public park and you can toboggan for free. The snow that fell on Tuesday night is still hanging around at higher elevations.
