One night in Vancouver, first timers

We are coming in on Amtrak on a Friday afternoon and leaving Saturday evening. Looking for ideas on what to do. We enjoy good beer and seafood, comedy and walking around. Also looking for an affordable hotel near these desired amenities. Any ideas would be very appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome to Trip Advisor!

You want to stay downtown. But "affordable" means different things to different people. So if you can give a budget for that night, in Canadian $$, that would help. And when is the trip happening? Next month, or in the summer? Prices will vary a lot depending on when you are heading north.

Stanley Park would be high on my list. You could rent bikes and bike around the sea wall. Maybe Grouse Mountain on Saturday morning, if the weather is clear. You can see the top of Grouse from downtown, so if you CAN'T see, don't go! I always enjoy wandering around Granville Island too.
