Not much chance off the docks-moorage in Tofutown is crazy expensive and commercial fishermen can't afford the rates you could always walk down/look around for cardboard sign.

There are three places with actual storefronts that sell seafood you'll see them while driving around it's a tiny place but choose carefully-when you see Prawns from Argentina on offer you know they're just using the same wholesalers everyone else in BC uses and who knows where the rest of their product comes from don't expect that you'll be told the truth if you ask-you won't.

As to actual 'fresh' product that's something of a rarity these days the money is in FAS products-Frozen At Sea-quality overall is better and it's easier for the fisherman to manage the business.
