if I buy my medication in P.P. and have the doctor's prescription, how many months of my med. supplies can I bring back to the States

You might consider skipping the pharmacies in favor of a visit to the new Sam's Club in Puerto Penasco with a pharmacy. Prices are set, very reasonable and the medications are all very current unlike many of the expired ones we encountered near Old Port.

I saw no big pharmacies like Benavides listed there. I would suggest following the advice above and using the pharmacy at Sams Club. If not, check expiration dates on everything and make sure packaging has not been opened in any way. You may encounter a pharmacy called "Similares," which carries generics, but I would not buy from them unless you really know what you are doing. We tried them in Nogales and they tried to give us different medicines than specified, meaning not just generic but another drug for the same condition but not a generic for what was specified.
