Jr. suite at La Brisas Huatulco

Hello all wondering if you can tell me if all junior suites at La Brisas are located on the ground floor or if there are others on upper floors with balconies....Also from what I can tell this place is a diamond in the rough and worth the trip - anyone been there and can share?

WE loved Brisas...it is an older hotel but on a huge property....lots of stairs and lots of gardens...be prepared to walk your legs off or catch the transportation around the resort.

The junior suites are on the second, or ground floors and do have balconies from what i recall. The deluxe rooms are on the first floor..sort of a basement, but let me tell you ..THE VIEWS ARE AMAZING.....

The beaches at the hotel are very swimable....one with a nice area to snorkel.

Huatulco is worth the trip...absolutely lovely.

Thanks Itchy and Scratchy! I was in Puerto Escondido last year and loved it; Curious to try out Huatulco - cause i've only been to the airport so far. I haven't seen too many negatives on La Brisas and it looks like the best deal for the price - location and beaches are just as important to me as the selection of food in the deep fryer - like at some of the more expensive resorts...

We're going back to Las Brisas in November for the 4th time. We absolutely love it there. Even the deluxe rooms with no balconies can be on the top floor with an outstanding view. They have very large sliding windows that you can open to get the breeze of the ocean. The balcony is nice but unless you're going to spend alot of time in your room I personally don't think they're worth the extra $400 - $500 they're charging (2 week price).

Hope this helps.

Thanks Va 2 - I read a few negative reviews about the food - but it was all from people eating raw fruits and veggies - Was the food and drink okay - we aren't too fussy and were just as happy at a three star last year in Puerto Escondido - we are mainly going for the beaches, view and scenery and this is why I am starting to believe that La Brisas is superior in this regard...

check google earth to see how the buildings are laid out. there is "ocean views" everywhere, but only the buildings right on the ocean have a real ocean view or a balcony. Deluxe rooms have a window that opens (most rooms). In my opinion, the beach club upgrade is worth the dough to have a balcony, but I live for early morning coffee on the balcony while staringat the ocean. Restaurants, Mexican was great, 2 of 3 meals were good at steakhouse, did not do other two. Buffet was good. way better than 3 star.

Sounds good to me - I have decided not to return to Huatulco so soon - I will likely be back next winter - this year I am taking a chance on a nice little Island paradise on the south side of Cuba in the Caribbean sea called Cayo Largo - but I know I will miss the near-perfect climate of the Pacific and likely trade this for a couple of wet or windy days.
