They break guitars and rough up customers.
And I heard that Apple didn’t renew their contract with Volaris so the Saturday nonstop is gone (they still fly to Huatulco but with a stop). Guess we have to fly thru Mexico City now. The only good news for those of that travel there is that it will keep it more of a secret. Don’t want it to become another Riviera Maya.
Oh man. We have a non stop flight booked with Volaris for November. I hope that won't affect us!
A Bloomberg report said the IAH/HUX flights will be cancelled for the summer. Hopefully they will resume in the fall. However another blog stated that service is cancelled altogether.
On the positive side Interjet and Aeromexico are expanding routes. In terminal 2 MEX Immigration is now done on kiosks and customs clearance is on the honor system with possible spot checks or voluntary declarations..
That route used to be the only option for long term stay. We would drive to Calgary, spend the night, fly to Houston, spend the night and then on to Huatulco the next morning. Took 2 days to get there, but outside of a 1-2 week charter, was the only way we could stay several months. Lots more options now, but waaaay more people also...
Best to check with Volaris. There are so many conflicting reports out there.
There are ten Apple flights coming in, 1 per week starting May 23.
Now if they could just have a decent departure time instead of the middle of the night and a reasonable layover in Mexico City., that would be wonderful.
