lodging in Suffolk County near North Fork and Hamptons

Are there any hotels, motels, B&B on eastern LI that are not that expenxive. We like quiet and scenic but not necessarily fancy. I would like to be less than an hour from the North Fork or the Hamptons.and would like to find something for under $150 a night. Is that possible? Thanks so much.

Your budget is low. You might be able to find something in the Riverhead area. There are some chain hotels near the outlets--they won't be scenic, they may or may not be quiet, but they might be somewhat close to your budget.

By June the pruces skyrocket, even in Riverhead. You can have a look on

Vrbo.com

Homeaway.com

And maybe find a room in someone's home or a cottage, but your budget is really low. There are some chain hotels in Islip near MacAthur airport that might fit the budget, but you're more than an hour feom the east end (1 hr 15-30 mins.) and not at all scenic.

Towns to check are Cuthchogue, Mattituck, Eastport, Wading River, Hampton Bays.
