Sand Flea bite prevention

Traveling to Great Exuma in October and would like to know if i need to bring some sort of repellant for the sand fleas? Recommendations on what tends to work the best?

Deet works in high concentration and skin-so-soft is a good barrier on the skin that they cannot penetrate.

If the wind is blowing strong you will have less issues as no seeums aren't great flyers.

They tend to be more active during dusk. You shouldn't need to wear it all day long laying out or walking around. It's not like the island is invested or anything!

I have been told by people who live in Exuma that the best way to keep the sand fleas off is to use baby oil....they get stuck in it... don't bite... baby oil in the sand is most unappealing, but then, so are chewed up legs....worth a try.
