How large is the beach at SRB? Can you walk to other resorts from Sandals?

The beach is about a mile long. Great for walking or you can walk left as you face the ocean and walk along the golf cart path for extra mileage.

There are no other resorts to walk to. There's a liquor store across the street, an ATM, and by the golf course is a marina.

No other diversions if you get cabin fever but you can catch a taxi to georgetown ($100 roundtrip) and see the straw market, marina, and catch a water taxi ($8 I think) to Chat N Chill - a restaurant on Stocking Island that has a pig roast on Sundays (overpriced IMO at $20/plate) and on other days is open as a regular restaurant on arguably one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Vegas, your talking about the Sandals on Exuma. SRB is located in Nassau on Cable Beach. Not sure how big or long the beach is at Royal Bahamian, but I do know you can't walk to other resorts on the beach. The beach is not continuos along this area.

wwbev711: whoops - you're totally right.

elizabeth: We stayed at SRB 2 years ago and walked from there to the Fish Fry (along the road though) but now that they're doing so much construction, I'm not sure if this is possible.

Along the beach, it was about 1/2 mile but there was also Sandals' semi-private island...the beach there is quite small but a nice diversion.

You can also hop on a jitney or take a taxi into town for souvenir shopping...

Take the #10 bus for a dollar to the straw market for souvenirs. If you gamble they have a free private shuttle to the wyndom that has a casino.

Definately enjoy the private Island it's great. My wife and I loved it there.

Bus to downtown is $1.25, not $1.

I don't see why you couldn't walk to other resorts at SRB, but they may not let you in. And you would need to go out the main entrance, not the beach. We went across the street to the drug store. There is also a Subway, Burger King and some other stores. We also took the bus downtown. There is a stop right outside the entrance, and it takes you downtown. We then took a taxi to Atlantis for the afternoon. If you go there after 4pm, it is free and you don't have to pay for their tours. Just make sure you get back before the busses stop running if you want to take the bus back. I forget what time that was.

And make sure you go over to the private island. Almost no one was on that beach, and it was nice and sandy.
