Question on bringing your own wine

Does anyone know the rules? I'm getting conflicting reports. Some say you can bring into Nevis how many bottles you want but only bring back to US two bottles. Others say Nevis is limited to two bottles to bring in. Thoughts? Knowledge?

The answer is actually simple but people often confuse the Duty Free Allowance with the total amount. So, you can bring in any amount of wine into Nevis as long as it is a "reasonable amount" (up to a case is generally considered "reasonable" but that amount is not set by law) and for your own consumption. The first 1.5 liters (per person) will be allowed in Duty Free. You'll be assessed Customs Duty on any excess.

There are similar laws when returning to the US but the Duty Free allowance varies from 2 to 5 liters per person depending on the country you are traveling from. Go here for details: https:/…3D
