First timers with kids!

Hi All,

We are hoping to visit VG from the UK in early December. Will the weather be ok ?

We are looking at a villa online but will need to book a car is that easy to do on arrival?

What's the easiest route from Antigua to VG(5 of us)

Any must do with kids aged 3&4 ?

Thanks in advance for any advise!

Reserve your car before arrival and they will meet you at your arrival location. Mahogany rental or L&S...weather should be good...not rainy season..must visit the baths and the tarpon feeding at Saba rock at 5pm...take the gun creek ferry over for a late lunch and stay for the feeding. Beaches are all wonderful.

Our first trip to VG was when our son was 3.5 yo and it was fantastic.

My advice -

rent in Mahoe for the best beach access, very easy walk from most houses to the beach

Have the villa provisioned by Bucks. We find (3x so far) the quality to be excellent and where able to provision Things we couldn't find in the store

Spring bay is a great beach to get the feel of the Baths without the crowds. There is also a playground there and my son met other kids to play with in Sunday's.

The Michael Bean's pirate sing-a-long is fun family entertainment

The Jumbie show is another family event, BBQ before is optional and you don't need to eat to attend the show.

We just did a split stay between Antigua and Barbuda. The Antigua airport is serviced by a number of regional carriers. Check into Cape Air. Expect a full travel day between islands. Further, it might be worth looking into a charter service such as Island Birds as ticket prices and baggage might cost as much or more than a charter.

My hubby and I are at Bellamare in Mahoe Bay on Virgin Gorda as I text this. We have our 1 year old and 3 1/2 year old grandbabes with us (and just for good measure invited their parents to come along too! And, a couple of family friends...). The kids are in heaven...both already swim and we cannot keep them out of the private pool...the oldest learned to snorkel then went to the beach and continued to snorkel. So far, the kiddos are loving it! Saba Rock has a tarpon feeding at 5pm every night. And, we took a boat ride and snorkel expedition with Dive BVI yesterday. The captain was great with the kids!

There are few ways to travel between the islands. We have left Antigua via LIAT which goes to St Kitts, St Martens, and then Tortola? It's been awhile. There are many problems with LIAT, flights do not leave when they should, luggage can be lost, etc. Hopefully, you can find another flight. Even LIAT is cutting back on flights.
