That's a tough call. The islands are so different from each other, it's not a fair comparison in my opinion. Antigua is more flat, with longer stretches of beach and more arid. St. Lucia is more mountainous, lush vegetaion, intimate coves and dramatic scenery. Very different landscapes and different types of resorts also.

As for weather, it is the tail end of hurricane season for the Caribbean and both island will see a fair amount of rain mixed with a lot of sunshine. St. Lucia will still be fairly humid and hot, sunshine, etc. Still low season, so hotel prices will be towards their lowest end.

Not sure of the excat types of weather for Antigua, but it will be similar.

As you didn't give much guidelines on hotel types - AI, adults only, etc. - it's hard to make recommendations. Broadly, in St. Lucia, I would recommend looking in the Soufriere area as it has the most beautiful scenery with the Pitons, etc., plus some of the best snorkling on the island. Anse Chastenet, Jade Mountain, Ladera, Jalsousie (The Tides at Sugar Beach), Stonefield Estate, all great properties in the Soufriere area, very beautiful, more upscale and great for romantic occasions.

Can't give much help on Antigua as I have only been twice and not for long either time.

Good luck, feel free to ask any other questions!

Hi there, thanks for your reply.

Yes it would be all inclusive & preferably adults only although this is not a must, were just looking for a relaxing time, good food & a comfortable hotel.

Well, in St. Lucia, if money was no object, I'd start at Jade Mountain. Truly amazing hotel with unbelievable views of the Pitons. Private pools in every room, butlers for every room, unreal food. AI is available, adults only resort, although kids are allowed at Anse Chastenet, it's sister hotel below it on the ridge. There are almost never any children at Anse Chastenet and they are usually older, over 10.

After that, I'd look at Ladera, then Jalousie. Jalousie offers an AI option, as does Ladera. Jalousie allows children - but again, usually very few!

For true AI resorts, you mostly have to head north on the island, where the scenery is not as spectacular, but there are more resort options.

My first stop would be LeSport/The BodyHoliday. Great Ai on a cove area with good food and drinks, great spa - that includes a spa treatment a day! - lots of activities, or nothing at all as you wish.

Rendevous is another great option, boutique AI, adults only, (as is LeSport), beautiful gardens, long stretch of beach, etc.

Windjammer Landings offers AI with a wide array of room options, but it is a family friendly resort.

There's always Sandals, 3 on St. Lucia. We like the Grande best of those, it's the newest. the rondevals att he Grande are great!

Those should get you started for St. Lucia. good luck with your research!

You say you are looking for a 'relaxing time, good food & a comfortable hotel'. We have stayed at East Winds Inn on St Lucia and Galley Bay on Antigua - both meet your requirements, in our view.

East Winds is intimate with somewhere in the order of 30 cottages set in beautiful gardens on a quiet beach - excellent food.

Galley Bay is quite a lot bigger but is well spaced out on an excellent beach.

If you are looking for a vibrant nightlife, go elsewhere, but both these choices offer low-key evening entertainment and good after dinner conversation at the bar.

East Winds Inn, St Lucia.

Its on Trip Advisors Top 10 AI in the World (No 6). Quiet, elegant and superb service. Most guests are 40+ from the UK. Virgin Holidays offer a great deal. Older children are welcome but its not really aimed at them, so in term time it will probably be adults only. For your 25th I'm sure the resort will 'push the boat out'. It is a very small resort and very quiet, the food is great and all the staff are fantastic.
