We stayed at the GBPCayacoa in January & we could see a Catholic Church from the terrace of the resort. And while sight seeing in town & down by the harbor we found another one, which we did go in to look at, although I can not remember it's name.

If you look at the map linked below, directly behind the Main dock is a Park....to the right of the Park is City Hall...between the Park & City Hall is an "upside down triangle" & that is where this church was located. Nothing flourishy or over the top, just a simple church...very quaint.

So to answer your question...this small church would be the closest to the CruiseShip Dock.

The Catholic Church is in the middle of town and you should be able to see the new spires from the cruise ship. If you take a left turn off of the cruise ship dock and head towards town you won't be able to miss it. It's going to be visible once you arrive at the flea market that's set up on the boardwalk.

Coincidentally, the famous La Churcha is across the street from the Catholic Church as well.

Have a Great Visit!
