I personally wouldn't bother with upgrade room. I'm staying here now and vip is not worth it. Get a private cup smaller pool and a whirlpool bath on your veranda if on ground floor. Seen nobody using the whirlpool baths at all.

When we were there we enjoyed the VIP section. The section had its own bar, section on the beach and own pool. We though it was worth the money.

They have nightly entertainment and the Bavaro shares a night club with its sister resorts after that. Liveliness depends on the crowd they have that week. Good milk shakes at the coffee bar in the lobby and lobster in the steakhouse every night. No dinner reservations required.

Im quite disappointed with entertainment at night in the Bavero palace been here 3 days and frankly bored. Im 35 and dont expect the world but Karooke was the show last night. Im a night owl at home but feel like you get ready at night for no reason and actually look forward to going to bed. Show don't start till 9:30pm nothing even before for the kids. I know the Riu Bambu has more life so will try there tomorrow and let you know as here for another week and a half. The sports bar is also pretty boring. Also been told to avoid the casino in Riu Macco on other posts and by others staying here as its a con. Shame as like a gamble. This hotel has potential but could be so much better with little cost. Staff overall not very friendly. Btw can compare as seasoned Carribean 5 star hotel traveller so not moaning for sake of it.

Sorry you are not having a good time. Any possibility you can transfer to a different resort for the rest of your stay?
