Just back from Bavaro Princess and Ocean Blue.

Just spent a week at Bavaro Princess with family and grandsons and then spent time with friends at Ocean Blue. Happy to answer questions.

Hope you had a good time at both resorts. Please compare the two resorts and how both resorts compared to all the resorts you been to.

Was it a good holiday, what was the better resort?

Sorry for delayed response.

Both resorts were great , but because we are beach folks we really liked Bavaro Princess. Resort is huge and has a Tropical vibe. Most all rooms are Bungalow style and were very nice and spacious. Food was as good as most resorts we have visited. Ala Cartes have no reservations and were quite good. Layout of resort is great with lots to do near the beach and have late evening drinks. Staff was great.

Ocean Blue is smaller and has a beach that has been eroded, but because of the large bags in the water, it has improved. I think OB's beach is one of the narrowest we have stayed at and there is not enough shade areas for the guests and you are packed in like sardines if you want shade. Beach was kept clean.

Pools and rooms were great and location of rooms to pools and beach is great. There really is only one place to go for entertainment at night and that is the lobby. No place to hang near rooms and beach late evening. Pools hare the best of any resort we have been to.

Both are great.

We loved the separate areas at Ocean Blue, with rooms being near beach, and quiet at night.....and dining and entertainment being all around the plaza, with lots of options. Evening entertainment in the large theater each night, plus lively music in the lobby, and also piano bar for adults near that area, but separated.

Also one of the restaurants goes on and on with drinks and music till the wee hours, I think it is a sports type place/American cuisine.

Of course if you are in Privilege Club there is always the nice beachside area of the Privilege Lounge for a quiet nightcap, maybe a snack, listening to the ocean and being near your room when time to turn in.

And don't forget the always enticing Mike's Coffee! Nice sometimes to stop there for dessert and coffee after dinner.
