Rain in the forecast everyday

Hi,

The forecast for next week is calling for thunderstorms every day. Is this accurate? Or are these the heavy rain episodes that last only a short amount of time?

Thanks,

Farhana

may I suggest looking at www.windguru.cz for Bermuda - its what a lot of the boat/dive operators use - the weather next week doesn't look that bad at all- of course we are a small island in the middle of the Atlantic so weather forecasting is still not an exact science - I hope this helps

I would keep an eye out on the weather- it does change constantly.

Regardless Bermuda is a great place to visit with a few rain clouds and without- youll have a great time.

We went in July and there were thunderstorms listed every day.

Checked Accuweather, Weather Channel, and Wunderground daily and was very concerned that the vacation would be a washout.

Turned out the "daily thunderstorms" consisted of one overnight shower and one brief afternoon light shower.

Needless to say, vacation was great.

It's H-O-T and H-U-M-I-D in Bermuda during August....the perfect formula for thunder storm activity. (Meteorology 101) so...yeah...it's a better than good bet that there will be occasional thunder storm activity...more often than not, later in the evening and wee-hours of the morning. These storms are usually highly '..localized..' , sharp, fast and past quickly.

When is the best time to visit Bermuda -- for the best weather conditions, smaller crowds, less expensive hotel rooms, good restaurant prices and plenty of relaxation?

Boy, you don't ask for TOO much, do ya? If you go during the best weather conditions, then you're not going to have the smaller crowds and less expensive hotel rooms. That's just common sense. The "crowds are not a factor unless you insist on going to Ho4rseshoe Beach when the mega cruise ships are in. And even then, if you just keep walking to the left as you're facing the ocean, you will find several smaller beaches you will likely have all to yourself. The best weather?? In my opinion, late May and June. By July it gets very hot. Beginning in Sept, then the possibility of a passing hurricane ruining your week is there....however unlikely. But you don't get to have your cake and eat it too. If you go during the good weather season, then there will be more people and higher hotel rates.

ANY time is the "..best.."...depending on YOUR personal preferences, priorities, special needs and/or budget.

For US....it's mid-June-thru early-July...the weather is usually warm and sunny, without the higher humidity of August or the possibility of local weather being effected by passing tropical storm or hurricane activity in the general region. It's also near perfect '..beach weather..' for some of the very best beaches on the planet. This is also the most heavily booked period of the entire year for Bermuda tourism--for both air/hotel and cruise arrivals. BUT...oddly enough, though as noted above, a few places like Horseshoe Bay beach, Tobacco Bay beach and the Royal Naval Dockyard complex (Bermuda's main cruise port) Bermuda disperses and absorbs these higher tourist numbers remarkably well. Unlike many 'island/beach' destinations, with a few convenient '..tourist areas..'...pretty much ALL of Bermuda is at your disposal and relatively easily accessed.

But...the NOT so-minor-details of your own definition and preference for "..best weather.."...."..crowds.."..."..expensive.."..."..good restaurant prices.." (many would say '..expensive year 'round..')..."..relaxation.." (we manage to find quiet, UN-crowded, pink-sand, surf-fringed beaches that we have pretty much to ourselves all day long and quiet places during the busiest 'season' of the entire year...but then, we make the effort).....would go a long way toward getting you better directed and more meaningful advice.

Is there anything that you can do to control the weather ??...sorcery ?...alchemy ?...a really cool '..weather dance..' 'round the fire ??......No ??.....then why not worry about things that ya' can do something about ?? Make sure that you pack enough sunscreen lotion with an high enough SPF number....that you un-plugged the iron and turned off the stove before ya' left the house....that ya' DON'T pack those pants that make your backside look like the rear bumper of a '56 Buick....and maybe, toss in some lightweight rain-gear. Those rain ponchos that sell for a buck at the Dollar Store work well enough and are easy to carry in your bag. You'll look like a vagrant IF ya' need to wear one...but you'll look like a DRY vagrant.

We went last year in August and there was only one pop up rain shower which occurred at night. The weather (and humidity, as mentioned previously) is really no worse than DC in August.
