Where to stay in Aruba

Hello. Im planning a 60th birthday trip for my husband and another couple will join us. Where is the best place to stay? I would like it to be 4-5 stars. My husband wants a all inclusive, but I'm not seeing a lot of hotels that offer this. We will be going around the 15th of September. We will mostly stay in pool/beach most of time. Would love any feedback. Thanks

You really would be wasting your money and missing out in great restaurants if you did all inclusive. we love the Hilton right in palm beach in the middle of everything!!! You can walk to great restaurants every night!!! Beautiful lagoon style pools and stunning property. The price is pretty reasonable for Aruba for this type of property. enjoy!!!

We will be going the same week. Sep 15-22. Having stayed at Barcelo twice, Hyatt once, Holiday Inn once, Hilton twice its hands down Hilton for us. Great pools, best beach that has very few rocks unlike the resorts futher north. We are in your age group. 60. 59. You can reserve a palapa after 4 online @ hiltonbeachservices.com for free and in September pleanty are available.

For a 4-5 star I would look at the Ritz on Palm Beach and the Bucuti on Eagle. They are both very different beaches though, but either of these you will get top-notch service and will not be fighting for shade on the beach. The Bucuti is a boutique style hotel on a beautiful stretch of beach. I believe it is rated as #1 on TripAdvisor. It is more quiet and the pool is not huge. I haven't toured the Ritz, but there is a Destination Expert who has stayed there many times and will hopefully chime in.

Good morning- we enjoy the Tradewinds Level of the Marriott Stellaris Resort and Casino. It offers the ‘best of both worlds ‘. It is open from 7AM-9PM daily. You can read about it on the hotel website. We have our breakfast and lunch there- especially convenient when coming in from the pool or beach. We like dining out but also enjoy having the option to eat in the Lounge between 6-7PM. Or we go In for a cocktail and appetizers before going out for dinner. The Marriott Stellaris has an Adults Only Pool also. Whatever you decide, congrats on the birthday and enjoy your trip.

Bucuti. You will not be sorry. Read the reviews. Service better than any Ritz. Great breakfast every morning. Close cab ride to a lot of wonderful restaurants. There are always multiple (not one, but at least three) concierge employees on duty to help you pick any restaurant. The restaurant right at the hotel is great, and the dinner they do on the beach in your own cabana is wonderful. We went two years ago and are going back in about 3 weeks. I would not even think of staying anywhere else.

I have a couple of questions...As I was looking at others like the Marriott, guest are complaining about the availability of the chairs (where you have to get up very early just to secure one)! Is this a problem at the Hilton? Also do they have a early time in which pool closes? Looking at the hotels can drive one crazy.

Pam- if you stay at the Tradewinds Level of the Marriott Stellaris, you will have your own private Beach area. You still have to reserve a free palapa at 7AM for that day or at 4PM for the next day.You mentioned that you are 2 couples traveling together so you could ‘switch off’ who waits on line for the palapa. Another option, which we do, is to rent for several days(not consecutive days), a cabana at the Adult Pool. The cost is $75 per day which includes $50 in food and drink credit. With 4 of you, the cost is minimal and you could always go into the Tradewinds Lounge for your lunch.

Hilton is a great property and the beach area is less crowded than the area near the Marriott properties (Stellaris, Ocean Club, Surf Club) all situated on that end of Palm Beach.. You can reserve a palapa the afternoon before.

If you are looking for quiet and relaxed-then Bucati would be a good choice. They have no music allowed on the beach/pool area and no groups over 6 because they do not want loud laughing and talking. It is a quiet atmosphere. I personally like more lively and things happening so we picked the Marriott Stellaris on the Tradewinds level for our honeymoon! We loved it so much we are going back again this year for our first anniversary!!!! I would advise against AI in Aruba since you would be missing out on some amazing restaurants the island has to offer. However the Tradewinds level offers complimentary beer and wine all day, breakfast, snacks, appetizers, lunch and a dinner hour with a full open bar! It is nice to run in and grab a banana and a beer and head to the beach!!

Thank you so much for the information on Bucuti. I’m glad you told me about noise level... we might be a pretty loud group! We are very outgoing people so I’m wondering if we would fit in? I think we are deciding between the Hilton or the Marriott...can anyone tell me if there are hours on the pool? In Destin the pool closed at 8:00 pm which we were not aware of prior to check in. I just want this to be a vacation my husband will never forget!
