Aruba vs. Bahamas

Looking for a comparison between the two, I know both are amazing, but if I were to pose the following questions, which would you recommend?

Which is the better island for an AI vacation? Which has better weather? Which is better for nightlife? Better beaches?

Keeping in mind that we are girls in our mid-twenties.

i went to bahamas last year and stayed at the riu. It is all inclusive. Good booze and great food. It was right next to the atlantis so it was great location. we went to the casino every night. The water was very clear and a nice blue. Best vacation so far. I am going to aruba may 27th staying at occidental. I will let you know whats better

Picky...Bahamas is more run down and less clean than Aruba. But we stayed on Palm Beach and should have stayed on Eagle Beach as water is very important to us. But w/ that being said I believe the water was prettier in Bahamas than Aruba. Either way depending on what you want to spend (we don't go for luxury) they both are about the same price wise.

The weather in Aruba is the same all year, warm-hot with a nice strong breeze. Without the wind you would fry. The Bahamas do have "seasons" as well as the possibility of a hurricane, Aruba is too far south to be bothered by almost any hurricane.

Nightlife in Aruba is minimal to moderate. Most would not suggest an AI in Aruba unless you really drink a lot. There are many great restaurants in Aruba and if you stay in the high rise section along Palm Beach you can walk to most of them. They are moderate in cost.

Been to both 3 times

Bahamas - more laid back (if you avoid that dreadful Atlantis ) with a carribean "feel " - much better beaches

Aruba - weather is kinder - a breeze keeping you cool - no hurricanes and its a lot cheaper !

Girls in mid 20s - Aruba for you I think

Everyone is taking it for granted that you are talking Paradise Island, is that where you were thinking? There are other islands beside there.

Freeport is a dump and I thought dangerous.

I've only been to the Bahamas once, years ago before they built the Atlantis. I was a pre-teen and remember thinking that I didn't feel safe, that I hated getting harassed by people on the beach every 5 minutes to braid our hair, to go snorkle, to rent any other water equipment. It was like enough already. One of the things I love about Aruba is that you are left alone to just enjoy your vacation and the choice is yours and right there if you'd like to do any activities. I also recall the Bahamas being much more expensive that Aruba, even for something as simple as a hot dog or hamburger by the pool.

Though I have to say the snorkeling in the Bahamas was really great, I think Aruba has better weather and as a girl in her mid-twenties I think Aruba has a good variety of things to keep you busy at night.

I think the water in the Bahamas is much nicer. We stayed on Cable beach.

As for driving around the island....I would suggest Aruba.

I enjoyed both islands but I am not a girl in my twenties. But if you go to the Bahamas (Nassau) I would recommend Atlantis for girls in their mid twenties.

We used to go to the Bahamas twice a year. The water is the clearest that I have ever seen. The Atlantis, IMO, ruined Paradise Island. It is mobbed with kids and became extremely expensive. The best retaurants were closed by the new Atlantis owner and the new restaurants were not as good. To make it short, Paradise Island is no longer the romantic getaway it used to be. The people are more mixed when it comes to friendliness. Arubans are the friendliest people you will ever meet. Aruba is much safer than Nassau. The restaurants are better.

The beaches just as good except, as mentioned, PI water is the best.

We stopped going to PI and now go to Aruba, so that indicates that we like Aruba better. MUCH better.

The biggest negative for the Bahamas is the weather...It is pretty much compared to Florida weather, in the winter it is hit or miss..I have been to the Bahamas many times where it has been high 60's to low 70's during the day..not good vacation weather, however it is party central for sure.

Been to both... went to the Bahamas twice (Nassau & Paradise Island) with a group of friends (mid-20's) and Aruba with my family... in my opinion:

-Bahamas is definitely better for AI, too many good restaurants in Aruba.

-Aruba weather is more reliable, although Bahamas weather was gorgeous (when we went, both times in May). Depends what time of year you are planning.

-Bahamas had better nightlife, more people near our age group.

-Beaches at both were beautiful - Palm Beach would be more what you are looking for in Aruba. Eagle beach is a little more quiet. I stayed at the Sheraton on Cable Beach in Nassau and Atlantis Paradise Island... there is more action/more to do closer to Paradise Island.
