Can we give clothes and gifts to the people, who work in the hotels in antigua,as we do in Cuba please ??
If you do, you will have to provide a covering letter to go with the gifts, as the employees are checked on leaving work, and if they don't have a note, there will be problems for them.
Also, it is nice to check what sort of things they would like - the Antiguans are a proud, quite reserved people, and may not overly welcome random gifts. I don't think there are the kind of shortages of everyday items that there are in Cuba.
Hi, as mentioned by Antigualover you will need to provide a covering letter to give gifts and they are a very proud people too. What you can do is find out if the hotel works with any schools, charities or group homes you can donate stuff to. Some very popular ones are: Sunshine Home for Girls, Hospice, Care Project. The hotel you're staying at can provide a list or organizations and needed items.
Excellent idea, Juanna.
We always donate via our hotel charity scheme rather than give individual gifts.
