I understand you get a much better rate in Thailand than the UK.

I will be changing sterling to Baht in airport arrivals at Phuket and then at money exchange booths. ATM's carry a charge besides your bank charge so I will be avoiding them.

If you are staying in Phuket Town, Superrich is likely to have the best rate.

If you change in UK you will lose about 10%. Best rates in Thailand are about 44. Even at airport you will get better rates than uk, unless you order online then you can get about same as airport rate.

£50 will get you slightly higher rate.

We're staying at the Amari at the far end of Patong and went down the 7/11 an hour ago where there's a booth offering 42.24. If we walk into town we'll definitely beat that.

Bottom line wait till you get here for the best rate.
