You can try with Mr Raju Meena +91 9414030301, he is my go to guy in Ranthambore. I think if he cant get you one, then the chances are bleak. If spotting a tiger is the primary objective then you can also try Bandhavgarh National Park.

Hotel will manage the booking of jeep; you have to book it in advance as there limited number of jeeps available. The cost is around 30 Euros per person

I just want a private jeep for three people but would pay for all other seats. Is that not okay?

For every empty seat that goes off into the park there is one disappointed person left behind. So, if you are in a jeep with 3 spare seats they will want to fill those seats

The permits are all signed off individually against ID,

a.) to make sure all permits are legitimately purchased, and

b.) To make sure of fair play.

Only so many permits are allowed each day, and only so many jeeps are permitted, and as you are finding out, they could sell those places 10 times over.

There are 6 seats available in each jeep, so if you only want 3 seats, that leaves 3 others.

If you have 6 permits all with different names on, they wont try to fill those 3 seats because they will think there are 6 persons already in the jeep.

But whos names will be on those 3 other permits ?

The park officers are'nt so much green, as they are cabbage looking

IMVHO Ranthambore is'nt worth the hassle, but everyone still clambers to get there.

I much prefer Corbett anyway, and there is no problems getting private jeeps there. It is a different world completely.

I am sure a travel agent will get you what you ask for but at what price ?

if they ask 1500/- x 6 = 9,000 /- thats an all day safari in Corbett

1500/- is the cost though it seems

Please secure safaris first, before booking hotels. There is an online booking site for Ranthambhore, you can book jeep as well as canter safaris on that site. If safaris cannot be secured, then yuo shouldn't book hotels.

There are many possibilities other than Ranthambhore if you are unable to get safaris: you can try Kanha, Bandhavgarh, or Corbett.

When booking hotels only do so if they can guarantee to include safari permits. You will I doubt, manage all 6 seats in one jeep that way.

But you could ask all the same

I am still trying to decide if it is worth the trip. I don't have time to go to Corbett. We are traveling in Rajastan, from Jaipur to Udaipur and thought to stop in Ranthambore for something different. We are then heading onward to south India, so if you have other safari park suggestions in the south,let me know.

Regarding Ranthambore, I contacted this operator: www.tourmyindia.com

They gave me a quote as follows:

Sharing Jeep safari will cost you US$ 40 per person per safari at Ranthambore National Park.

Exclusive Jeep safari will cost you US$ 230 per Jeep per safari at Ranthambore National park.

The above safari cost includes:

1: park permit

2: entry fee

3: naturalist at the time of safari

Total amount is due in advance, payable via their online payment system.

I am also going to contact the other tour operator mentioned in earlier replies.
