1st march - 8th march still good powder ?

Looking at heading to Hakuba for a week from the 1st march just curious over the years has there been good powder around then or we better off booking a couple of weeks before in Feb ?

I understand they have started off the year pretty well over there does that normally mean a longer winter into late march or shorter ?

We cannot say it's still good powder snow on March in Ski Resorts in Honshu(main island) of Japan. I think it's better on February in Hakuba.

Indeed snow in general would be better in Feb as mentioned, though in early March up on 1400m or higher powder snow would still be abundant.

Search on snowjapan.com for archived snow reports by year.

Hi Chris,

I'm there first week of March won't be as heavy but still powder days and some bluebird.

Did you end up booking that week?
