Travel from Mui Ne

We will arrive in town for the first time on Monday and are staying 4 nights. We can/t wait.

, We are just wondering whether to travel from here to Saigon by car or Bus? I know there is an obvious price difference but is there an obvious difference in comfort and time? We are unsure which way to go . Any thoughts please.

Regards Mick

Mick, The bus trips now take up to six hours. Not only is a private car more comfortable, but you will probably be able to cut the trip down by at least one hour.

Well my last (bad) trip to Saigon took around 6 hours anyway.

It all depends of the traffic (crazy on morning and evening) and the unscheduled stops, one every kilometer for Hanh, one for every passenger that needs to get off with Phuong Trang.

But if they slow down and stops more it's much better than having accidents.

Mui Ne is still not far from HCMC, Nha Trang will take forever but they have an airport.....

We had a group of 5 and we rented a 7-seat van.

Very comfy and relaxing as we were ale to stop wherever and whenever we want.

You can take the train as well that will be the same time as the public bus. So to save time and have more comfy journey the private car will be the best option but of course it will be costly. The private car price now is about 100 USD -120 USD per car.

Train lately seems to be the best option as far as cost goes. With the train you do need to get to the station by taxi from your hotel and this adds an extra cost but still much less than the car.

Another more adventurous way is to travel by car to Vung Tau and take the hydrofoil to HCMC. Probably the longest way in terms of time but if you do want to make some stops at least there is something to see, against the somewhat boring trip along the highway to HCMC.

Cheers Ross
