Italo trena seat map/plan: which direction is forward facing

Hello train travel experts -

I am about to book tickets on the Italo Venice-Rome train and would like to select our own window seats. However, when I do a dummy booking and look at the seat plan for the Italo coaches, it doesn't show which way is forward. We would like forward facing window seats. There are some seats facing in each direction on the plan.

Can anyone please help?!

Thank you for answering what is probably quite a stupid question...

Basically, it is impossible to predict which way the carriage will be, as the engine will then reverse after entering Venice S.Lucia.

The trains get reversed in service, so either end can be leading.

I just purchased tickets from Trenitalia. The top of the seat map page had an image of a train with locomotive. Wether or not that is accurate, I do not know. But unless someone has a definitive answer, I would use that as a guide.

Venice-Rome trains reverse direction after two hours, as Florence is a dead-end station. So you'll spend the last 90 minutes facing the opposite way.

The fast trains do not use separate locomotives. There is a power car at each end.

Sometimes you face forward, sometimes you face backward in the same seat. It changes at the stub-end stations. No matter which seat you choose you will face both backward and forward.
