Suggestions regarding train travel in France and Switzerland

Hi.

We have planned a trip to France and Switzerland. Our itinerary is as listed below.

23 June: Cannes to Geneva

24 June: Geneva to Lucerne

25 June: Lucerne to Lauterbrunnen/Interlaken, back to Lucerne

26 June: Lucerne to Engelberg, back to Lucerne

27 June: Lucerne to Liechtenstein, back to Lucerne

28 June: Lucerne to Paris

30 June: Paris to Nice.

Please advise which of these 3 options would be the most economical for the above itinerary: buying a Eurail Pass, booking tickets in advance online, booking tickets a day prior to the journey after we reach Europe (we are traveling from India).

Also, which are the most reliable web sites if we are make advance train bookings or buy a rail pass? A quick revert would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Sabih.

Cannes-Geneva and Lucerne-Paris buy in advance at www.loco2.com

In Switzerland, compare prices at www.sbb.ch with the cost of a Eurail pass.

sbb.ch sells regular price tickets that can be bought at the same price at the station on the day, good for any train, and Supersaver fares, specified train only, book in advance (booking opens 30 days before travel) saving up to 50% on regular fares. Your call!
