Tour groups for women, yes, I know there’s a big market for those. I’d be in that target demographic. As I said, I’m not opposed to group tours. Tour groups for women that only visit London, and only focus on the main sites though? I haven’t seen those. Post links if you have, because I’m curious.

I did finally find one London only tour, interestingly, which I’m passing on to a friend who asked me last month. But everything else I’ve found has been London plus other cities. So again, I’m curious.

I frequently travel as a solo female in escorted groups. I have never looked into all-women's groups. Never really thought to, but I will say that every single trip I have been on had way more women on it than men. One group of about 20 had only 2 men. That's across 6 different tour companies, 15 or so trips.

If you are open to accepting men on the bus with you, I know at least Gate 1 Travel has a London only tour that includes the touristy stuff and free time to do whatever isn't included on your own.

I really think London is doable on your own though, especially if you really aren't looking to leave the city. My friends and I did it no problem just using the Underground and occasional taxi. Never felt unsafe. If I ever had any desire to return to London, I would happily do it on my own as a solo female. I rely on escorted tours mostly when I don't speak the local language or when I want to cover multiple countries in a relatively short amount of time.

I chose women only just because I think I'd feel a little more comfortable, that's all.I would consider a group that includes men, as well.

I originally asked because I *really* want to see London but I would be traveling "alone". I'm not good at finding my way around and followig directions (it's amost embarrassing) and being part of a group that I could "follow" would be perfect for me.

You could go to London solo, then join different day tours for sight seeing. A friend recently got back. She did her own plane ticket and picked a central hotel. But after arrival she planned her own days. She went to quite a bit of theater (buying tickets the same day or day before) but she also found a well-recommended walking guide who she went with on small group city walking tours 3 different times.

Maybe you want the completely structure of an organized tour, start to finish, and to plan everything for you. Just tossing the idea out there that there are ways to do it that aren't 100% planned for you or being 100% on your own.
