What do the Trip Advisor points mean?
I keep getting messages that I have lots of points but what can I do with them?
TA seems to have the idea that they are for “ fun” and will motivate members to write more reviews.
I neither know nor care how many points I have... doesn’t interest or motivate me one little bit.
Beyond “feel good,” for contributing*, there is zero, which can be done with the TA Trip Collective “Points.”
* Most are of a mind, that they can still feel good about their contributions, WITHOUT, those Points and Badges.
Best of luck,
The more points you accumulate, the richer you are. In points. Very few of us like them as they are misleading and worthless.
The points are pointless.
They are meaningless, have absolutely no value, are worth less than the gold star you got in grade school. They are as useful as a chocolate teapot, an ashtray on a motorcycle, or a cat flap on a submarine.
They are only intended as an incentive to contribute more content to the site and to provide self gratification and positive affirmation...for those who need it.
They can NOT be used for, traded for, or exchanged for, anything - anywhere. They DO NOT earn you points toward airline miles or any other travel partnerships associated with TripAdvisor.
