LHR to LGW connection time

We are landing at 10:00am (Friday morning in May) at LHR. Can we make a 1:55 flight out of Gatwick if we have a through ticket and carry on bags, flying first class?

I personally wouldn't risk it as inter airport connections between LHR/LGW are horrendous. The travel class is irrelevant as you still have to make your own way from LHR to LGW.

What airline are you flying and what is your original departure point/final arrival location.

This might help, theairports are not too close together, but this topic may give you an idea.

You will need about an hour to clear customs, collect your lugagge and get out of the airport, then you have to be 2 hours before your flight departure at Gatwick which only allows an hour for the journey and if your flights late it will be impossible to make it, try and either book another flight out of Heathrow or book a later flight.

I think the tight time frame doesn't allow room for delays. Thanks.

Personally I'd pick a different route as you've picked the worst of all possible worlds.

You have to pass through immigration, you have to collect luggage, you have to pay go to another airport, you have to recheck luggage, then go through immigration again when you reach Italy...

...at least if you route via somewhere like Amsterdam or Paris you won't have to collect & recheck luggage let alone change airports and don't have to worry about immigration at Naples - though you will pass through immigration at the intermediate airport (Google Schengen)

You mention 'through ticket and carry on bags'. The former will be useful if something untoward happens; if by the latter you mean you will travel with hand baggage only then you will save a bit of time at LHR and at LGW.

Flying in F you'll be first to disembark, but will face a bit of a hike (10 minutes walking at speed) from the arrival gate (probably at one of the satellite terminal buildings) to passport control. If you do plan to check bags, the good news is that they are usually delivered quickly at LHR T5 and should be on the belt by the time you've gone through passport control.

If you do book the flights you're considering, take a car service from one airport to the other rather than the National Express coach.

But ideally, book a later flight to NAP.

How about flying to Rome and taking the train to Naples?

Can we make it.

===========

Maybe. I'd give you 50/50. Hand luggage is unlikely to help you, the delays are usually immigration which is before baggage reclaim. If you haven't already bought the tickets, choose a connecting flight out of LHR or as said above, somewhere else. Or failing all that a later flight.

No flights to Naples from Heathrow - though Gatwick has several BA flights a day and other companies fly there from Gatwick, so in theory the worst that happens is that OP is put on a later flight.
