Your BEST and WORST flight taken!

I saw this on another Australian forum and thought it was a great idea!

This is not a place to complain about OTA (online travel agents) or travel agents in general. It's a little story time on why you felt this flight was your best or worst whether in Economy, Premium Economy, Business or First :)

My best was Korean Air Oct 2014 (economy) - The crew were brilliant, for a very full flight from SYD > ICN they were very helpful and attentive. The food was delicious and the seats were comfy! I would also say that the flight from Incheon to London after my connection was just as good besides the heavy set man in the seat in front of me. He had to be on a constant recline to make himself comfy but this didn't bother me as im quite petite (4'11) he just smelled very bad. Vapor rub under the nose helps!!

Worst: Emirates Economy class Dubai > Sydney in March 2017. Staff were snappy, and rude. I asked for an eye-mask if possible and I was snapped with "No, premium customers only" which is fair but she could have said it nicer - "I'm sorry, unfortunately we're unable to give them out in economy as we're only short stocked for premium passengers" or something! I was given one from Malta to Dubai but left it on the plane by accident so I thought it wasn't harm to ask. The seats were uncomfortable and the family beside me made my flight even worse - kids jumping from row to row (fam of 7) parents yelling at them plus I was feeling a fever coming on ooftt..

Tough one.....

Best - Swiss from Zurich to Montreal in Business April 2014 (paid for with points) - comfortable, great staff, amazing food.

Worst - probably Thomas Cook Calgary to Manchester 2010?? I sat bolt upright and could barely breathe for 8 interminable hours. Paradoxically the return flight was fantastic...lol

But there might have been worse, I'll have to think about it, and then maybe revise my answer.

Best, several different airlines but upper deck on a 747 with each. Like your own private plane since there are only a hand full of pax.

Worst, military flight to VietNam in 1969.

Best - Domestic air, before a Superbowl game. Everyone was having a great time. Nothing to do with the airlines.

Worst - 13 hour flight, food poisoning with hourly vomiting. Also nothing to do with the airlines.

Best - A daytime flight from Darwin to Adelaide. I had a window seat, and I enjoyed watching the scenery below which included the McDonnel Ranges and Lake Eyre. I sadly have not set foot in those places.

Worst - A flight from Melbourne to Sydney during a storm, which had an aborted landing at Sydney. It was in the air for an extra hour, and then it landed. The man next to me read the safety card, and I was looking over his shoulder at it.

I might be a weirdo but I quite like sitting straight up right @PicaPica60.

Might be due to my horrific back paints I get when I'm too reclined. Pax behind me must love it cos I never recline my seat or at least not much.

@brightonbill damnnn i'm quite curious to know your experience. Very unexpected reply.

Which one, the 747 or the flight to VietNam?

The military flight was loud, crowded, cold, uncomfortable and long.

The 747 was virtually individual attention, comfortable and totally enjoyable each time.

Best flights for me, are the ones I can sleep on. We flew from Istanbul to Mauritius earlier this year, and I wasn't thrilled with a flight departing at just before 2 AM local time. It turned out to be the best thing ever for me. I don't normally sleep well on planes, even in international First and Business, but I was so ready sleep based on the time of day.

I was probably sound asleep within 5 minutes of reclining the bed after the seatbelt sign went off, and woke up refreshed when they were serving breakfast shortly before landing. I have no idea how good the crew was, or how great the meal was, or how great the movie selection was. I don't normally get 8 straight hours of deep sleep at home, so I was thrilled to get that on an airplane. I will say the flat bed on that brand new TK A330 must have been very comfortable.

My next most memorable flight was probably a short flight from YYZ to YTM. Just a little 74-seat plane for a short hop, which we do every winter on that route. What was cool one particular time, is that my wife and I were the only passengers on the plane.

Worse flight: A few years ago an Air Canada flight from Frankfurt to Toronto. The first part was OK, then they served a sandwich or a wrap couple of hours before landing that was the worst food I have had on a plane. I was nauseous and bearly managed not to throw up until we landed in YYZ.

Best: Any flight going south to the Caribbean from Toronto in winter. As the plane comes in for landing over blue waters of any of the islands, you forget the cold and snow you left behind and start thinking of margaritas on the beach....can't wait!
