Whilst there is no "hill" the restaurant is pleasantly located in the vineyard - with sea glimpses. Lovely building with large open spaces inside and out and good areas to sit and sample the wines. We ate in the restaurant and the food and wine was very very good - BUT - the waitress was quite 'disinterested' and our service... More

Beautiful setting. Friendly and helpful staff who fitted us in on Anzac Day despite being fully booked - and we only wanted a snack. Some 'snack'! It was divine. Picture attached of marinated mackerel. Wines ok but there are better in Hawkes Bay

On the recommendation of a local we booked lunch here. So thrilled we did. In contrast to some of the more mediocre reviews, we found the food sensational, wine delicious and staff friendly. Food beautifully prepared and presented showcasing some of the best of the abundant local produce. It's a dining experience to be enjoyed at leisure taking in the... More

The restaurant is lovely. It looks modern and has a large outdoor area with lovely views of the vineyard but it is a bit noisy and echo-y inside. The food is great. Both the fig, ricotta and gnocchi entree and the pork belly entree were delicious. The lamb and beef mains were both good too. The wine list is great... More

We had heard good things, and driving in for dinner did not disappoint. Stunning location and beautiful surroundings. Food was good, however massive let down was the staff. Definitely made to feel that because we were a little younger than their normal clientele, that we would get sub-par service. Matradee in particular was quite rude.

We attended a family wedding so the catering was part of the deal. There were plenty of helpful friendly Staff to look after the 60 plus guests. The Restaurant and Winery are well suited, with a Outdoor area which can be used to the Wedding service and later for dancing. The food was very nice with lots canapés offered by the... More

The light wines were good, chards, sauv blancs, rose... the rest were not amazing. Lunch was very good, a little fancy looking but it worked. There were not many choices either. They accommodated a gluten allergy dietary restriction with no problem. Let me put it this way, we were booked this place as a lunch stop on our biking winery... More

This is the second time we have visited this vineyard and both times I have been hugely disappointed. The location and setting are absolutely breath taking; but the staff are abysmal. We got treated with contempt when we asked try a wine - "just that one"? My friend then said that we actually planned on buying wine which made Dean... More

We stopped by Elephant Hill to try their wines and decided to have lunch while we were there. The food was excellent, we had some awesome wine, the service was great and we highly recommend that you stop by.

Lunching with old friends we were again blessed with good weather that supported our outdoor table setting. Excellent food choices included opening day for Bluff oysters which were duly sampled! The fish options for 3 diners and a duck dish comprised our mains, augmented by Elephant Hill wines. Outstanding experience and thoroughly recommended for special occasions.
