Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

There was some very good artwork and photographs adorning the walls of this fairly large cafe, as much for decoration and also for sale. We bought a lovely small hand painted fridge magnet of a fairy wren. There was also a large area that appeared...to have been set aside for people to paint. The coffee was good and there was also a fairly good selection of cakes and slices. Service was friendly.More

The Crowded Lounge caters for the local art scene and is an eclectic, interesting venue with a real mixture of furnishings and decor. The coffee was good and there was an excellent range of gluten free slices to choose from.

This used to be THE place to go in Latrobe for a reliably good coffee every time. Since the new owners took over it is going from bad to worse. Service is very slow and poor quality. Allowances were made initially, but they’ve had enough...time to settle in now. The coffee is inconsistent, and limited food offerings expensive. They obviously don’t like spending money on heating as it gets quite cold. Not being open on a Saturday is just poor management. We have tried to persist with this one but I’m afraid it’s another one to cross off the list.More

visited last Sunday for lunch, we were just passing by and hungry so decided to try out this eatery. At first we weren't sure if it was a café because of the seating arrangement. Orders were taken at the counter and served at your table...by what looked like the owners teenage son who to be fair was doing a good job of it. The problem was the food, while it wasn't terrible there was very little to choose from and the standard of the food and coffee were really just below average. The prices were high for what you received, coffee was served in very small cups, I thought my husband had ordered an expresso but he informed me that it was in fact a long black, to be honest it was laughable. I had the curried vegetable pie and found it quite awful, the pie and small coffee costs 11 dollars. My grandson had a cheese toasted sandwich and it consisted of two slices of bread with a slice of cheese 6 dollars. Not worth visiting again!!More

Just a last minute choice. Different and delightful arty space with a small offering of foods. Soup was good and croissant was best for a long time. Good space for meeting and lots of art around the walls.

Took my visiting relative here for a coffee. The latté’s were perfect. We also ordered an Anzac Biscuit each. The biscuit unfortunately was chewy and stale. It had flavour but needed a 5 minute burst in the oven to crisp it up. The service was...good. The only other issue I had was that it was cold there and no heating was on. The atmosphere and furniture is very pleasing. Would visit in summer but not if it is a cold day due to no heating or direct sun getting into the building.More

This is one of my favorite coffee escapes. Set in an art studio the Crowded Lounge has a wonderful ambience, ideal for that group catchup or a quiet destress on your own. Great coffee and the owners and staff are knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming.

Had a toasted cheese and ham sandwich and a large cappuccino. Both were fine, particularly the cappuccino which was smooth and creamy just how I like it. The decor is very homely which is different to most cafes. The owner and his wife were friendly...and efficient. Well suited to this type of business. The have a bit tub of soup simmering away which is $4 for a small cup. $5 for a big one. Today's flavour was pumpkin. It comes highly recommended by friend who I came across when I arrived. Selections appear to be limited to toasties, soup and a few slices/cakes. Ample selection for a light lunch though. Nice change from the usual cafes.More
