We arrived at Devonport early in the morning on the Spirit of Tasmania and decided to head to Latrobe in search of breakfast and found Belly’s. We weren’t disappointed! My wife and I both had Eggs Benedict with bacon. She had tea and I had...a flat white. The food was tasty and very reasonably priced and the service great with a friendly smile! The coffee was exceptional. Highly unlikely we’ll be back in Latrobe for a while but we’d be back here in a heartbeat!More

Omg....we have just finished the yummiest seafood platter ever. I don't even generally eat seafood, but it sounded too good to pass up. The calamari was flash fried to perfection, the scallops were oven baked in garlic butter and the rest, soft shell crab, prawns...and oysters Kirkpatrick were melt in the mouth good! We are overnighting on the coast and already planning on stopping here for lunch again tomorrow! Best meal we've eaten out in ages, and we do eat out in Hobart A LOT. This is a must do if up on the coast!More

It is about time I reviewed Belly's.Found it when working a couple of weeks here in January 2020.loved it.Visited again in June 2020 just as restaurants reopened. Was impressed by the way they had handled the pandemic and had gone from strength to strength. So when...working here in the last 5 months we came back and now go once or twice a week. The food is of high standard. The seafood has never been over coooked.Often some great specials-the Moroccan spiced quail is a must if on the specials board. Service is very good and friendly So thanks Mark for running such a great team. Price is reasonable and serves often large.More

We visited Latrobe and Belly’s Bar and Grill was recommended by a local. And it didn’t disappoint. The food was really good...with lots to choose from. We didn’t book, but were able to get in after a small wait. So I recommend checking opening hours...and book a table. What stood out for us though was the service staff. My husband ordered crumbed scallops and was brought battered scallops. We decided not to say anything because the food and service was so good. But the waitress noticed, apologised and addressed the mistake. As we didn’t complain she could have noticed and left things as they were. Very impressed...thank you Belly’s 😊More

Enjoyed a great meal here when staying overnight in Latrobe before catching the ferry back to Melbourne. We had the calamari as an entree and it was delicious. My husband had the double burger and really enjoyed it. I had the salmon with prawn and...scallop sauce and it was also excellent. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Thank you Mark and your staff for a great dinner.More

My trout was very good, and my partner’s eye fillet was cooked great. However the seafood topper was a fail. Smallest scallops ever, and a big swimming pool of sauce filling the entire plate. It was strange. Wine - couldn’t get any choice of white...wine that wasn’t Tasmanian which was a bit of a shame. Overall experience was pretty goodMore

When we are asked for a good place to dine we point all our guests that stay at Belle’s B&B to Belly’s and we have...never had a reason to be disappointed or had bad feedback from our guests.More

First spotted by writer with sandwich board outside advertising Tasmanian Scallops. Hard day at work. So decided to call and make a reservation. Glad I did because the restaurant was busy with end of year gatherings and locals out for dinner. Wait staff friendly and...seated me promptly. Schooner of lemon lime and bitters then a dozen oysters on the half shell au naturelle and crumbed scallops. Wait staff asks if I can eat all that I ordered. I tell female server “sure. I’ll slurp these down in no time.”True to my word 2 oysters left when Scallops and salad arrives. Lovely meal n I was satisfied. Takeaway Fish n chips I had the Blue Grenadine and salad to go. It was yum when I taxied home. So moist and lightly crumbed. This restaurant lives up to it’s name. Belly’s I’ve enjoyed the dining experience so far. Delish!More

Always been a big fan of Belly’s, great food and service. But our last visit was so disappointing, the staff weren’t at fault, but the food left a helluva lot to be desired. I asked for my steak medium, it arrived oozing blood. My partner’s...Squid was nigh in inedible it was dry and tasteless. My steak was so tough I sliced it through thinking that might help but it was tough as old boots. Our veggies were pretty much uncooked. It was very busy, otherwise I would have sent my steak back. All in all we left, four very dissatisfied customers. Haven’t been back since but based on previous experiences we will, but really really do hope it’s better than this particular meal.. 3 star rating would have been 5 based on previous experiencesMore
