When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fantastic Thai meal yummm. Great menu with so many options it's hard to make a choice! They even have Australian meals to accommodate choice. I can't wait to go back. Oh AND they do takeaway if you want. Beautiful venue too. Thank you.

I have been to many Thai restaurants in London but I never experienced the authenticity of Thai foods anywhere but yesterday being in Thai imperial with my family at dinner I literally experienced the authenticity of Thai. Every dishes they made had real touch of...Thai authenticity and every bite I took from dishes I ordered tasted the real authenticity of Thai food. I must say all dishes were scrumptious and I love to go back there again and again. Thai imperial was absolutely brilliant place to experience the authentic Thai food.More

While I can not complain about the food, the service is over the top. We had just sat down and we were immediately asked if we were ready to order. We were constantly asked by EVERY wait staff if we were right for drinks. At...times when we were asked we all still had full glasses. You could not carry a conversation because you were constantly being interrupted. When 1 of us had finished eating , there was a rush to take away empty plate and unused cutlery, even reaching infront of someone that was still eating! We had been served our 2 courses and were out of there in an hour and a quarter. So much for a leisurely saturday night out for dinner with family.More

Had been looking forward to visit this place for ages. Located in Bells Parade Reserve, a beautiful riverside park, situated beside the Axeman's Hall of Fame in Latrobe. Finally made it - only to find it underwhelming. We started with an entree of Thai fish...cakes (Todmun Pla), which was good, and the chicken skewers in satay sauce which weren't. The satay sauce was thick, heavy and glutinous. Unfortunately the mains, of vegetarian Pad Thai and chilli barramundi also failed to impress. With both dishes there was an over reliance on sweet chilli sauce as the dominant flavour. Pad Thai was made with vermicelli rather than the more traditional wide, flat rice noodles. Perhaps not a problem in itself, but the dish was stodgy leaving us feeling heavy and desperately needing to walk. Complimentary water was appreciated. Service was polite and helpful.More

The food was beautiful, the best Thai food my wife and I have had for years. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was wonderful. I recommend you make the trip from Devonport or Launceston and try this wonderful restaurant.

We have eaten at the Thai Imperial a few times, but last nights experience was more than just terrible. We were eventually greeted and seated by and Indian guy who was clearly quite busy even though there were only four tables being used, but there...was a larger table with Indians who were clearly getting most of his attention. Our first clue that things were weird was that the special of the day was butter chicken!?!? We ordered our wine which at $10.50 a glass was barely 150mls and took forever to arrive. We asked to order when that arrived and it took 10 minutes for him to come back with the iPad. We ordered Mango Chicken, a Seafood Laksa and side of vegetables. The vegetables arrived about 5 minutes before the main and were soggy, over cooked and swimming in water with what I think was soy or oyster sauce. My husband had the Mango chicken which was dry and overcooked covered I what was orange sugar syrup. Tasted nothing like mango. My Laksa is the worst I’ve ever had. It was sweet, gelatinous and had a lumpfish chilli sauce dumped in the middle of it. I had to search for the 8 small pieces of seafood. I’m not sure who was the chef last night, but they clearly had no idea what they were cooking. Apart from the fact that it tasted awful, the meal left us feeling disgusting and like we’d eaten bricks. Worst meal EVER!More

We were on our way home to Launceston and we booked here with two friends for lunch. The place was near empty with only one other table being seated. We started with Thai fish cakes and they were excellent, I then ordered Cashew stir fry...with chicken and the other three guest had Massaman vegetarian curry. The servings were huge, I was sorry I had had the fish cakes. The food was excellent although I could not finish mine. Other guests also thought the food was first rate. Highly recommended.More
