Great service, beautiful food! We shared a calamari, I had the fish and my partner had the Morton bay bug pasta, so delicious! Highly recommend.

Went there last night for dinner and boy, was it good!! After sharing a herb and mozzarella pizza, my partner ordered veal in wine and cream sauce which was served on mash with wilted spinach and I chose the fish special which was absolutely delicious!!...We followed these beautiful dishes with a yummy tiramisu which we shared and a cappuccino each. We also had a glass of Pinot noir recommended by our waitress. Not a cheap night out but by goodness, it was worth every cent!!More
Naz and his team served up an amazing authentic Italian experience - more than just a meal! Each dish has a history. Take some time to really take in the ambience. The walls are covered in a rich family and Italian history.
Have been meaning to come here for a long time and glad to have finally made it. Outstanding old fashioned table service from knowledgeable and caring staff. Food was excellent, top wine list of imported Italians and locally made Italian varieties. Desert, always have to...have the tiramisu, still thinking about it ! So many great things I’d like to try on the menu.More
Have dined there twice in 2 weeks - was very impressed with comprehensive menu (which clearly and usefully explains the food and what it comes with) and the variety of menu. Meal sizes are good, and food quality is excellent. The environment is nicely done...and tables are well spaced. Service staff are very good - polite and attentive, although very busy! It's a very good example of how to dine well in the suburbs and at moderate prices. It's firmly on our list of go to places now!More

Had not being there for 10 years but we were not disappointed with our return The owner treats his guests like his friends what a...personal memorable touch. Gatto Nero in Cernobbio. Bilicus in Bellagio. Il Posto in Florence. Trattoria alla Madonna in Venice. Roscioli, da Fortunata and Osteria Margutta in Rome. Da Gemma on Capri. The Garden in Ravello and Rosati in Naples all do great pasta dishes. But none do anything better...than the Maccaruna Calabrese at Il Forno in Hampton !More
Il Forno was a pleasant dinner place with great atmosphere and authentic Italian feel to it. The staff were interested and did it well in a restaurant that has a warm and friendly feel to it.The food was typical very good quality Italian and you...will not go hungry as the serving size is large. Came for dinner with friends last week and from the moment we walked in there was a queue although we had booked, shown to our table and they left us there for a good while before anyone came to offer menus etc...slow very slow service....The calamari was very good, it comes with an aoli no salad so i ordered a side salad which was obviously from the night before dripping in dressing and wilted lettuce. The saltimboca looked good and so did the fish. Won’t be back here until they improve their service.More
The restaurant offers authentic Italian food. The atmosphere was very nice. Food was to die for. Very nice deserts and interesting cocktails. We have to come back to go through the menu...
4 of us and a 1 year old came for an early dinner. We shared lasagne, a stunning salad, fig pizza of the day and a Napoli pizza, they were all delicious. Our house Shiraz was lovely and the Peroni beers were great as well....Service 10/10 will definitely come again when next visit Melbourne!More
Il Forno is located in Hampton St and serves authentic Italian dishes. I had the Maccaruna Calabrese (ribbon pasta with Moreton Bay bugs and artichoke hearts) which was delicious. Il Forno (literally ‘the oven’) is cosy with a gallery of family photos on one wall...and has a great atmosphere. I will definitely return here. Warmly recommended ...More
We dropped in here with our granddaughter Grace for a midweek meal. Pizzas are one of our favourite foods so we ordered two along with ravioli and sardines. We still had room for desert!
Table of 10 mid-week. Had been here previously and hadn't been very impressed but this was a turnaround. On the specials this evening was one of my favourites - Saltimbocca. About 6 of us ordered the same, and every plate was cleaned up! Absolutely beautiful....Haven't had as good a Saltimbocca since Italy. Very busy, great vibe. Excellent service. Will certainly go backMore
