I have stayed at Taubenkobel twice. This place is a faultless piece of paradise that offers everything to make you feel relaxed and stress-free! Barbara and Alain and their incredibly friendly team make you feel welcome from start to finish and have obviously given great consideration to the needs of their guests. I ate at both the bistro and main... More

Excellent restaurant. Staff were very attentive, explained every dish when they arrived. The food was excellent and presentation very unique. It was quite an experience. Peter Scheiber of Weinguide took us there; he knows all the good places. It is a bit out of the way but definitely worth the visit.

It is a remote place about 1 hour from Vienna and nobody would expect this quality of service, ambiente and food. The Greisslerei has a small selection of food and everything looks and tasted great. It took a while to get our meals, but there are things to explore while waiting: we were cruising through the tasteful small shop and... More

We spent two nights the hotel during a bike tour. The rooms are all different and funky. The grounds are amazing – frog pond, courtyards and a restaurant to die for. Our group had a multicourse dinner with wine pairings that was served to perfection. Notable was an artichoke appetizer with shaved goose liver, warm rustic bread with lard (I... More

This is a review that is difficult to put into words. I had dinner (with my partner) very recently at the Taubenkobel and we also spent the night in the hotel. The hotel and garden are truly beautiful - even though the weather wasn't good enough to sit at the beautiful pond. Our room was nicely decorated, clean and also... More

Upon arrival in Vienna airport, we drove to this border city. While I had a clue about this Michelin 2 star restaurant, I absolutely fell in love with such relaxed comforting rustic settings on a beautiful sunny warm Saturday in May. Being the first guest, the Head Waiter Mr. Andrassy showed us around the restaurant and took us to a... More

Dear reader, hope this helps you decide to go for this place. If your diagnosis is TLDR: here's the verdict - Very recommended. Will come again. Currently holding 2 Michelin stars, Taubenkobel offers what it bears proudly on the chest. I'd say once in a while it's worth doing the trip from Vienna or else down to Sutzen Am Gebirge... More

Visited this place somewhat by accident, but left with a great experience. To begin with I need to say we ate at the Greisslerei beim Taubenkobel, which is the next-door sister/daughter outlet of the fabled Taubenkobel. We were seated at a table "inside the store", meaning surrounded by shelves with homemade, as well as manufactured goodies (jams, chutneys, relishes, pasta,... More

Guess, you have to had some gourmet experience to value this place. All is local and even the tableware seem to be homemade. Some dishes came on straw and indigence came from the neighborhood. The wine selection was for my taste a bit too "organic", but it's part of the whole theme. I definitely recommend to stay at the hotel... More

Description
The Taubenkobel restaurant is one of the best in the country. And for those who are hesitant to enter such spheres, the light version in the form of a pretty bistro is just the ticket.

Unique in the world: a cosmopolitan haven in a small village in Burgenland.

When crossing the threshold of taubenkobel it is clear that its owners have created an unique atmosphere, a cosmopolitan haven in a small village in Burgenland, half an hour away from Vienna. This charming 19th century vintner's house is dedicated not only to well-being but also to the appreciation of art and the surrounding nature. Add to this the remarkable cuisine of the Grand Chef Walter Eselbock and his son-in-law Alain Weissgerber who masterfully craft local products into sophisticated creations. Eveline Eselbock will enchant you with her selection of wines. Barbara Eselbock, daughter of Eveline and Walter, will welcome you with her charming attitude. 11 Individual rooms and suites which are lovingly equipped with selected furniture and accessories from all over the world will make you feel like staying at a good old friends house. An outdoor natural pool, the enchanted garden, a sauna and an additional more casual restaurant the "Greisslerei" will round off your stay.
