A great find! We enjoyed our evening on the upstairs terrace with a lovely view of the Port Alfred bridge and lights. The esbein was excellent as well as the prawns. Friendly, relaxes atmosphere. Will be back!
Wow wow wow‼️‼️‼️‼️ what a experience. Excellent food. Riaan you are a legend. Thank you for superb service. The best Don Petros ever. Don't ever pass this restaurant and pub you miss out. Before I forget don't leave without a bottle of Portugese sauce.
The Links is one of the few restaurants open on Monday evenings in Port Alfred. We were thrilled by the quality of our mains.. grilled seabream with sides of potato wedges, veg cooked to perfection, also enjoying a salad and anchovy focaccia as starters
Thank you...for good service, speedy delivery and nice atmosphere.. we will definitely return!More
First called as we intended having late lunch / early supper - yes we were told enthusiastically it would be fine to arrive at 3 p.m.
starters were OK, camembert, scampi and mussels, nothing to rave about but perfectly acceptable albeit a bit...slow in arriving but what the hell it was a funny time of day I guess.
Mains quite straightforward 2 x chicken schnitzel, 2 x ladies rump one with a garlic sauce, 1 x large rump including garlic sauce etc and one large rump pan fried with black pepper and a pepper sauce.
Ladies rumps arrived stone cold and were returned to be warmed up.
Rump with pepper sauce arrived without pepper sauce, this was pointed out to Lulu, the waitress, and again when the warmed up ladies rumps returned and again at the next order of beers. After about 20 minutes when steak stone cold and fellow diners finished the pepper sauce appeared. By then I was fed up and told the waitress I didn't want the order. No problem it was whisked away. No apology though. We called for the bill in due course and, you've guessed it, said rump was there at R 170. We deleted it snd settled the remainder of the bill including a generous tip as the waitress was not bad. We paid exactly R 1000 for all.
We asked to see the manager to explain our deduction, no one came.
We left only to be accosted in the car park by someone, who didn't identify themselves, asking why we'd short paid. Again no apology. After a slight altercation where I offered my telephone number, as we had to be elsewhere we left.
Anyway the point of this revue is to highlight the attitude of the restaurant, where is the common courtesy of an apology for non-performance.
To conclude, I'd rate the food overall a 4/10, and suggest that this place be avoided.More
Nice little restaurant.
Springbok Carpaccio and a Camembert Preserve: 2 starters worth going for. Good ribs and steak not so bad either. Don't order Eisbein, not crispy or very meaty.
Great service from Kristin.
Links has a wide selection, including Pastas and Pizzas, desserts and coffee. Because its not Halaal, I just had a Malva pudding and coffee. Pudding was the perfect blend of moist and not too sweet. My friends enjoyed the thin base Pizza.
I loved the...interesting mix of decor with egg tray lined ceilings, basket weaves on the wall, wildlife painted place-mats.
I recommend you visit even if its just to see the interior. and drink coffee.More
I loved the whole Links experience. As a solo traveler the warm welcome right from the door was most appreciated. It’s a feast for both the eyes and the stomach from the African decor to the food. The bar area upstairs has the most amazing...view over Port Alfred. Here you will be treated like you’re the only customer they have!More
