Visited for lunch. We ordered the fish special of the day which was fresh Kabeljou (a type of cod). The fish was grilled to perfection and served with chips and a side salad, all of which were superb. The service was a little chaotic, as there was only one server on duty and the restaurant had a few tables which... More

Service Excellence! Service and friendliness upon arrival (without a booking) was exceptional and continued throughout the evening. Food was a delight and delicious and prices were good. "Stellar Service" throughout. Friendliness of staff from Manager on duty, to waitrons was only but exceptional - great evening out, good vibe.

Great atmosphere in an historic port side building with friendly and welcoming staff. Fresh produce, freshly cooked and good size portions, all washed down with a pint or two of craft beer brewed on the premises. What's not to like?! Best to book as very popular. Ask for table in main part of building at ground floor level where bar... More

We were 8 couples and all enjoyed our evening at the restaurant. We all had different courses but everybody complimented the chef. We arrived at different times but the restaurant was very accommodating and stayed open till. Overall a good experience not to be missed when you visit Port Alfred.

I have often dined at this establishment and have enjoyed it. Our recent visit, however, proved otherwise. Upon entering the building we were not greeted and had to wait at the bar to receive service. Our waitron seemed inexperienced and, from what we saw, was not allowed to take orders which prolonged the entire evening. The food was a disappointment... More

If I lived in Port Alfred, I'd eat there at least once a week. The beer is improving every time I visit and the food is consistently fantastic! The fish and chips can't be beaten, but everything else on the menu is superb too. The creme brulee is designed to different and delicious 😋

The Wharfstreet Brew Pub doesnt just make great beer - they make great food too. Try a sampler of craft beers - Squires Porter; Coin Ale; Benn Koppen Larger and Kowie Gold Pilsener. The pub has interesting photographs of early days in Port Alfred. In fact the brew pub has an original water reservoir in the basement that used to... More

Not our first visit to Port Alfred or this restaurant. Only one thing to say......don't miss it. "Foodies" ------ this restaurant with its historical abundant decor is your "go to" when in Port Alfred for dinner. They serve Simply Scrumptious Food.

Description
The "Wharf Street Brew Pub" is situated on the historic Wharf Street in Port Alfred. It is housed in the oldest commercial building in Port Alfred completed in 1853. The decor is simple with pictures of old Port Alfred being the focal pointWe have micro Brewery attached to us and sell three of our own beers. Our food is a selection of Pub Style food like fish and chips, schnitzels and burgers ranging to freshly caught line fish, in house matured steaks and a host of other things in between. We pride our selves on good food and service so please pop in if only to sample our local brew, you might well end up staying for a bite to eat as many do after seeing our menu.
