In these days of sharp and modern- its lovely to find a warm, wooden, cafe/ restaurant overlooking a restful and colourful garden… and serving real food. We just stopped for tea- leaf-tea served in a proper pot -and the apple pie was delicious. No rehydrated lumps of apple here!! And friendly service. A nice souvenir shop is attached with interesting items- and a (free) book exchange. We left refreshed and relaxed.

The staff are lovely, Angela runs a great little cafe here. We visit often and everyone ensures you have the best experience. The pastries are to die for. It's our go to cafe for a lovely breakfast, morning tea, high tea is lovely also or indulge in a delicious lunch and while you are there browse the gift shop, all in all a great experience

Nice out of the way cafe with a section devoted to gifts and preservatives and clothing. These were possible the nicest scones and home made jam I have eaten in years and the tea was made with real tea and provided with a strainer for the cup. The attention to small details was impressive.

We were a large group looking for a last-minute booking, and they did their very best to assist us. With a little bit of compromise on timing we were able to be seated, served and receive our meals within the time frame we had. Communication with the cafe was excellent. Food was delicious, especially the steak sandwich!

I reviewed The Barn on Flaxton a year ago and since then I have been a frequent (weekly) visitor as we live in walking distance. Every single visit, whether it's to have a meal or a delicious Devonshire tea has been consistently great. I love eating there, I love the local food stocked in the gift shop (highly recommend the Suzie June drinking chocolate) and I love how friendly all the staff are. As another reviewer said, it's popular for a reason! Tip: If you live nearby or are staying nearby, The Barn also sells a variety of milk. Just ask:)

We had brunch at the Barn on a Friday morning, this place is very popular with locals, so is quite busy, but has a large dining area at the back, and has tables at the front where you can dine with pooches. The very friendly staff are welcoming. The menu has a lot of the favourite staples and cakes and muffins in the cabinet if you are just after coffee and cake. We ordered The Classic Breakfast (bacon, eggs and sourdough) which was very fresh and well cooked, and I can highly recommend the vegetarian chickpea fritters with advocado, egg and relish. The servings are generous, and importantly the coffee is made nice and hot. Part of the Barn also has a little shop area selling various gift ideas and all sorts of relishes, jams, honey etc. Definitely worth a visit

We stopped in for a quick breakfast and were pleasantly surprised. Despite hosting a wedding party (group of 30), our bacon and egg roll, tea and coffee arrived promptly. The quality of the bacon and egg roll was great, much better than one we'd had at a more expensive Bowral establishment the previous week. Enjoyed browsing in the attached homeware and gift shop and found all the staff to be so friendly and helpful. We drove past later in the day, and noticed the carpark was full with additional cars parked along the roadside. Looks like lots of people love the barn! The Barn is a real asset to Flaxton that we will visit frequently in future.

Very disappointing !! I’m only writing this review to save anyone that is driving an hour to try the currently rated #1 rated breakfast on the Sunshine Coast … Packet ham and sauce in the Benedict . Raw onion , untoasted bread , best before spinach in avo & toast … Way better places to have breakfast on the Sunshine Coast .

While I savoured my very large teapot of real tea leaves, the menfolk waxed lyric about their Eggs Benedict. There have been some very disappointing Benies lately (why do people keep messing with the tried and true?) and expectations were low, as these Bennies came with mushrooms or bacon; but these were TOTALLY AWESOME. Housemade sauce, perfectly poached eggs, and good coffee. The Barn also has a rather eclectic gift shop and clean toilets.

Picture this, driving back from Eumundi Markets to Montville, been raining all day, and we come across The Barn in Flaxton covered in mist. So we stopped and had a look. They are so friendly and welcoming. We needed a light dinner, and they offered a soup, freshly made potato and leek. So with our container of goodies including savoury Muffins., we were on our way through the mist. Thanks guys it was great.

As locals we used to drop in on the odd occassion but since the new owners took over we make it a regular eating spot. The food is really good and in good portions, and the coffee and scones are great. The owners and the staff all go out of thier way to make you feel as if your custom is appreciated, and will spend time to chat or change things to your liking. We always take or point our visitors and family to The Barn, and our daughter-in-law loves the coffee!

Angela and her husband should be congratulated. They are always very friendly and welcoming. As a returning couple we are always remembered. We each had the steak sandwich which was very tasty and we finished with great coffee and cake. The gift shop is full of interesting objects to purchase.

The Barn is close to Flaxton Mill Rd (the turnoff to the Baxter Falls section of Kondalilla National Park where we headed). We were keen for a hearty breakfast before we tackled the 7.6km return hike to Baxter Falls & Barn Café looked like it fit the bill. The café was gorgeous and best of all, offered mountain views out over the Sunshine Coast (good luck securing these tables!). The food was fantastic and the staff were wonderful –happy to be there and happy to be working in such a beautiful spot I would imagine. There was also lush and colourful plants and trees surrounding the café and there is a gift shop section attached which had impressive home-made art and crafts. I was interested to read that the café harks all the way back to 1969 (older than me!) and from our experience in March 2022 it will have another 50 years of trade coming its way. I can’t wait to return for another misty mountain view brunch in fabulous Flaxton.

Since the current managers took it on the Barn has become a popular and important local eating place for breakfast and lunch. The menu is huge with so many great options. They are happy to stock local craft and produce too. They do take away and heat and eat meals which is all amazing. We are so lucky to have them up here.

It is ,by far, one of the nicest cafes to visit on The Range. The service is excellent and attentive; the food very good and portions generous; the variety of sweet and savoury options plentiful. There is also a gift shop with this café and you can browse for that quirky gift, whilst waiting for your food/coffee order to be filled. Very relaxed atmosphere. It is one of our favourite regular drop-ins for breakfast or just coffee and cake!
