Lovely, friendly staff

I went for a walk with the kids on a Sunday early evening and happened upon the corner bar. We were looking for pizza, but we got so much more. The staff were lovely, accomodating and so friendly. Then we discovered $15 pizzas on a Sunday. The chef showed my son the wood fire oven and we were made to feel so welcome. I will come back with my partner for date night!

Great Food Service and Atmosphere

The moment we walked in we loved the vibe. Small, intimate and great atmosphere! We all enjoyed our meals gnocchi, carbonara and steak. All awesome. The wine was good and for Bondi the prices were good. Don’t miss this spot.

Really surprised at some of these reviews! The staff were so welcoming and the food was delicious! Probably one of our favourites out of many places we ate during our stay in Bondi. Chef came to chat to us and made us feel very welcome too. Highly recommend

Beef tartare - where was the beef?

We ordered two beef tartare and got extremely disappointed. Thanks for the parsley but where was the beef?? and the eggs? Do you really serve a tartare on a savory/sweet pizza bread? Cannolo with chocolate mousse & ricotta - with a napkin underneath :( Didn't really enjoy the food...sorry.

Very poor experience

We hired a private room with a drink and food package for 3 hours. The drinks were extremely diluted and instead of soda water or lemonade, it was often replaced with water or sweet water. The white spirits were taken from big plastic containers, not pleasant at all. Food was fine and the room itself was comfortable.

Could this be Bondi's best restaurant and bar? I think so!

Absolutely brilliant food, drinks and service at The Corner House! I used to live in Bondi and this was always a firm favourite for dinner, drinks and get-togethers. However, I now live overseas so hadn't been there for 6 years - and to my surprise, it's even better now than it was before! I'd pre-booked an area to meet a large group of friends for evening drinks, snacks and dinner - and it was all delightful. The communication before I arrived was excellent, the service on the night was brilliant, and my friends are still raving about the food (the mushroom pizza was a big favourite!) It's also really reasonably priced, which is an added bonus. The restaurant area is fun and has a great atmosphere, and the upstairs bar is perfect for small or large groups. On a Saturday night, it's noisy and buzzing, but in a good way! While we were there, we had a medical emergency (nothing to do with the venue!) and the staff - with special mention to the owner, Ben - went above and beyond to help the person affected. I have nothing but praise for The Corner House and will definitely be returning - and so will my friends! Thank you :)

Disappointed. Made to feel very unwelcome as a family

was recommended by a mum in my mums group who raved about how welcome they made her feel when she went with two small kids - by being friendly and swiftly bringing her a wine! so I had high hopes as I arrived with my baby while awaiting hubby and toddler who were on their way back from daycare. We rarely eat out and little one loves being outside at night so we sat outside as were nicely wrapped up (thank goodness as no heater!). After waiting a while at front a bloke came out who could not have been less welcoming! Face of thunder, no smiles or welcomes and he just looked pisssed off I was there. It made me question if indeed they’d maybe stopped doing kids food/welcoming families as it was just gone 5pm. I asked if I could sit outside and he said yes. I sat and waited and waited. He came out with a menu but as I looked up he quickly turned and walked back in - taking menus with him and said nothing? I opted to use the the QR code on table but it didn’t allow for alterations. So I went back in to ask about adding ham on a kids pizza. He said it’s self serve outside (ah that explains why he quickly backtracked and didn’t hand over a menu) to whichI said I didn’t know as no one told me! In the midst of trying to order with him up at the till he proceeded to let another older male customer interrupt and took their wine order before finishing speaking with me - rude! Again not friendly throughout the entire process uttering no welcoming words of thanks . The pizza came out (as part of a $12 kids meal which includes a juice and icecream) with a cold plate of prosciutto - not what I ordered but nevertheless I awkwardly cut it up with a baby on my lap (as son//hubby were running late) and stuck it on too. Once eating the food was good but then they brought the icecream out when son was in the middle of his pizza !!? Needless to say he didn’t want to eat his pizza anymore - despite me asking if they could bring it back after - as he’d already seen it so wanted it! Did they just want rid of us? I felt almost discriminated against as was a woman with a baby? Felt super unwelcome.Why would he be so rude? Why take an order from a bloke while I was ordering? Overall food was good, guys in kitchen were good as they kept ringing the bell to signal I was there - given I had to go on a few times! By time we paid there was a lovely woman on till who kindly asked how everything was. She picked up on my long pause and I explained it really wasn’t the experience I had hoped. She said she was sorry and to please come back. If only she’d started her shift befire the other guy maybe we would have gone back and maybe I’d be mentioning it to my other moms groups… but alas. Not again!

Fantastic food, great service & music

We had the calamari and the burrata for starters and both were really sensational! Then we had a couple of pizzas which were also really great. Service was friendly and the music was good too. Really enjoyed it thanks.

Service and atmosphere at its best!

We went there for a few drinks and the service was exceptional, the atmosphere so relaxing and the cocktails delicious . I was jealous we didn’t do a restaurant booking seeing the food that was coming out. Will definitely come again.

Great pizza very generous serving also had the cauliflower which was delicious 🤤 there were 4 of us and we shared all the meals. Really enjoyable keep up the great food guys. 👍

Justina and Nic time and again make the atmosphere in the upstairs buzz!! gluten free pizza and pasta both amazing - would recommend the seafood pizza and the mushroom pasta! Guaranteed great atmosphere and fun!

Four women celebrating their Sydney stay

I was taken to The Corner House for dinner.We sat at the front and I ordered the angel hair pasta with vodka and caviar,the most expensive on the menu and a ,glass cider. When the plate came the pasta serving was so small for the $34 I had eaten it very quickly and was still hungry. The seat drove me mad as the cushion was 10" from the back and kept slipping forward but could not adjust it and the we piled cushions behind me to get some comfort,to be honest Im glad it was a quick dinner,nothing else to eat and Im sure it cost my friend a fortune.I could wait to go.

$15 pizza is a lie

Had recently moved into the area, came here excited to try the pizza for $15 on Thursday night. Website advertises ALL pizza is $15.... it’s a lie only the first 6 are which are the ones which don’t include meat and much more basic. Don’t waste your time. Much better places to eat in Bondi! They also deleted by comment from Facebook so don’t take feedback well.

Great pizza!

We had a great time. Thanks for the great pizza and wine selection. Kids were treated like rock stars and they were happy with their pizza and pasta. We will be back for sure.
