Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited on a very busy Mother's Day. The staff were very busy but friendly and engaging. We started off with the prosciutto focaccia which was salty but delicious . Main meals consisted of my delicious gnocchi bolognaise and request for black olives to be included...was done without a problem. My brother had the tuna special which he enjoyed. My mum had the mushroom pasta special which was disappointing. The pasta was under cooked and unappetising. The lovely waiteress offered to change my mum's dish but my mum was too embarrassed to send it back despite the table urging her to do so. Upon paying the bill the waiteress informed the chef of my mum's dish, returned to me and said that the pasta was like that because it was made with flour and water. The most absurd response from the kitchen i have ever heard. Will i return?? Ummmmm, maybe.More

It has all the appearance of hand-made home cooking and I bought not just a pizza slice, but a loaf of bread for later. Prices are premium, but worth it. It is both a restaurant and a bakery, catering for dine in, take out, and...make at home.More

Visited with my partner and was disappointed in wait time and pasta. We ordered an entree that came in 15 minutes but then waited over half an hour for one pasta and one pizza, people who arrived after us had already left. We ended up...having to leave with our food and missing the start of our movie. The pizza was delicious and the ambience and staff were lovely, the menu seemed great too. The gf pasta was soggy like overcooked ramen and stuck together into one thick blob after 3 minutes. The guanciale was thick and gritty and undercooked, some pieces couldn’t be chewed. Maybe the pasta was this way because it was gf, but I’ve had better elsewhere and combined with the wait time it was an average night. In hindsight I should have sent it back and I’m sure the staff would have obliged.More

Really great authentic, delicious food, every element we greedily wanted more of to devour. Great wines, a hidden gem. Low key decadence and an absolute find. Don't take yours eyes off any plate you share with your partner as they WILL demolish it!

Pizza was quite good although the pasta was a little bland; but my wife liked it so maybe that’s just my taste. Service was good although I think that just two wait-staff for that many people means that they have to rush. Mistakes are bound...to be made if you aren’t adequately staffed. The outdoor area could do with more lighting.More

What a find!! So delicious and tasty. Allergies are easily accommodated. I had one of the best Italian meals ever. Both my partner and I ordered a meal from the specials menu board. Super friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.

I had high expectations of Cirelli & Co given all the positive reviews. The ambience and wait staff were good. The SA cab sav from their wine list was also excellent served in quality glassware and very reasonably priced @ $9/glass. Unfortunately the let down...for me was the food, I ordered the white seafood linguine which was overcooked and the linguine claggy. This was a big disappointment for me :( I guess I could have complained but didn't want to ruin the night for my fellow diners. Based on the linguine I'm afraid I wont be rushing back to Cirelli & Co.More

Cirelli is a great hidden gem of the Melbourne restaurant world! The food is incredible, yes. The Cirelli family is incredible, yes. The atmosphere is awesome, yes. And all of these things together create a very special Restaurant. Italian Cuisine; with great vegan options, fine...wine, delicious meals & superb deserts. I've been to Cirelli many times; recommended Cirelli to dozens of people & will continue dining at Cirelli for that experience that is half-NYC-style, half-Italian-Villa & 100% Melbourne. Thanks Cirelli & sea again soon!More

The food was amazing as were the staff and the atomsphere, so warm and welcoming. It makes you forget the stress of busy days. I had vegan pasta and ice-cream - best meal I had in a long time. I can only recommend it.

Great food and intimate atmosphere. Great service from a bubbly waitress was all sadly ruined by the most insane and extremely uncomfortable fight between waitress and chef. The whole restaurant didn't know what to do for well over 10 minutes as we listened to the...screaming match going on in the kitchen. Slamming down on benches in fits of rage while exchanging abuse through tears and anger is certainly not what I expected and definitely not something I ever expected to experience. It was like something out of Ramsay's kitchen nightmares only worse. I wouldn't normally write anything but it seemed from some of the workers and 'friends'of the establishment that this sort of outburst from the chef was not uncommon. No one wanted to intervene. While the food and service was good up until the incident, I would discourage anyone from supporting this place until they deal with the chef and his unacceptable behaviour.More
