I've been going to Nishi for years now and each time I come back it gives me another reason to come again. I firmly believe that it has the best sushi that Barbados has to offer. On my visit I was lucky enough to get a table upstairs to sit at the sushi bar. This room is air-conditioned, comfortable, has... More

The restaurant is not ocean front and has no wonderful views but the interior is warm and charming and the host makes one feel very welcome. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. The food was excellent. Slight glitches in service - one order forgotten and two orders taken incorrectly. Apologies were offered and these were rectified as quickly as... More

A foodie friend told me that you judge a restaurant by its' lemon tart and the lemon tart here is to die for. Varied menu and well prepared food in pleasant environment. I'd go back again but beware of the pickled cucumber

Returning to Barbados we wanted to try somewhere new and our friends recommended Nishi in Holetown. Situated on the main street and within walking distance from our hotel we decided to try it for dinner. All was visually interesting in the downstairs bar area but we proceeded upstairs to our table. Two (apparently) Japanese chefs were working away behind the... More

Well Mr TOAD, a bit lost for words on this one, as I find it hard to apologise for running a restaurant where we encourage our customers to enjoy themselves. 3 stars because you have a hearing issue, really. I would like to point out that our Sushi chefs are actually from Indonesia and trained in Japan, having spent a... More

Dined here on a fairly quiet evening. The menu was varied with a good selection of sushi dishes complementing a range of alternatives. The tempura shrimps were tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed both the Mahi Mahi blackened and the fishermans pie. Shared an afters. The manager introduced himself and we were happy to provide positive feedback on the food eaten.... More

We had the pleasure of having dinner at Nishi very recently and it was truly great. Very friendly and professional service, pleasant setting and delicious food. They were great with our boys (2, 6 and 8), too. We went for the mixed platter and a couple of kid's favourites for our boys and we really stuffed our faces - the... More

Very good sushi and a nice selection of sake. We sat in the courtyard downstairs though there is also an air conditioned room upstairs. The owner Paul was very friendly and talked us through the menu to help us decide. We shared a dim sum to start and then had the lobster Maki and the new Bento box. All very... More

We've been to Barbados 3 times and every time we keep on coming back to Nishi. Trendy setting, attentive staff and (most importantly of all!) absolutely amazing-tasting food! The sushi is absolutely amazing, and is presented like a work of art. If sushi isn't for you, then there's plenty of other varied dishes on the menu to tempt you. Easily... More

We were a party of 7 including two young children (4/5 yrs) and had dinner in the early evening. Food was superb, service friendly yet efficient and it was nice of the owner to take time to talk about our meal. Open kitchen upstairs where chef entertained the children as he prepared sushi. We were made to feel very welcome... More
